’27 LB, Jordan Catlett, from the Christian County Tigers is the Lasaters Coffee & Tea Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week @KatherineL58069, @coachclsmit, @ChiefSmoke10, @LasatersCoffee, @bigassfans, @Ale8One, @eCampusdotcom, @HenryMi74881410, @HopHighTigers, @Jasiahmccarley, @FC_FALCONS_FB

’27 ATH is multitalented and promises to be a vital piece to next year’s puzzle for the consolidated school

There are plenty of people around the western end of Kentucky waiting to see what a consolidated football roster at the new school will look like. The Tigers were a right formidable, district one, 6A team this year on its own. Still, there are some exuberant Hopkinsville natives who believe the conglomerate of the two roster is likely to provide a right formidable 6A, first district, ball club. We also believe it to be likely. Jordan Catlett is from a long line of football playing “Catletts” around the area and is a kid who lacks some height and length but makes up for it with “twitch,” explosion, and arriving at the ball in an ill-humor. This new school provides Catlett an opportunity to demonstrate, more fully, exactly the type of football player he really is. I will look forward to seeing how this all resolves. It has the chance to be very successful if properly managed, manned, and administered. Of course it must also be competently guided and lovingly directed.

Prospects at the WKC Combine

Hopkinsville, KY: Hopkinsville had a solid roster this year with some “Dudes” on it which made a tremendous difference in many of the Tigers’s games. Christian County struggled this past season but lost several players, in the offseason, to Hopkinsville via transfer in expectation of the two schools coming back together for 2027.

One of the “transfers” was Jordan Catlett. Catlett played for Christian County his sophomore season and finished among the leading ground gainers for the Colonels and was among the Colonels more reliable defenders.

Catlett was a three phase guy at Christian County. He transferred over to Hoptown for his junior season and contributed in multiple phases as a Tiger. Point is, this is a kid with a varied and well developed skill set athletically and as a football player.

We have seen Jordan Catlett consistently listed in the 5’8″ – 5’10” range. We have seen his weight listed as being from 180-195 or so.

Whatever height Catlett happens to be, and at whatever weight; Catlett is a prospect who wears his pads well and pretty obviously works hard, off season, to insure optimal, in-season performance on the field. You can’t accurately measure heart, or courage, and he’s amply stocked in both of those critical departments.

Catlett had a very good year playing for a Hoptown Tiger squad which certainly had its moments in the ’25 season. Catlett was easily among the Tigers’s regulars and among its more consistent players. Of course, “Catlett” is a surname we expect, around Hopkinsville, to provide us outstanding performances athletically while still being among our brighter students and more exemplary citizens. Catlett is all of that, plus a bag of chips (as the saying goes).

Catlett was one of Hoptown’s top defensive performers on its 6A playoff team this past Fall. Catlett tallied 60-tackles, 11-TFLs, two (2)-sacks to go along with a FF, a FR. In addition, the multiphase performer exhibited the skills to contribute at RB and even converted a two pointer on special teams.

Hopkinsville is as good as any other team in 6A’s first district

Friday Night Fletch

Jordan Catlett is an accomplished powerlifter at the high school level and has been an accomplished wrestler. That ability to utilize strength, power, explosion, and leverage to gain a competitive advantage has served Catlett well on the football field as he has been among his club’s leaders regardless of where he has played.

Jordan Catlett, 5’8,” 180

Against South Warren, an undefeated team the Tigers drew on the road in the playoff’s second round who has just been crowned Regional Champions with a home date against a 10-win, Ryle Raiders squad upcoming this Friday night, Catlett was particularly prolific particularly on the defensive side. Against the Spartans, Catlett logged seven (7) tackles to lead the defense in that statistical category, albeit in a losing cause. We call that coming up big for the team’s biggest game, a trait shared by big-timers and next level capable performers.

We don’t know what the future holds for Catlett as the rosters prepare to come together. It will be both a hard and bitter pill for sworn enemies to disavow age-old prejudices in favor of comity and uniting against new foes, new enemies. Catlett’s having played for both the Colonels and Tigers over the course of his varsity career may be a balm and bridge sufficient to help merge the two rosters into one. Catlett’s having played both places isn’t singular. There will be plenty of “others.”

We do know this, the new Christian County Tigers may find some truffles hidden amongst the roots of the Hoptown Tigers’s former football roster. They may find some next-level type kids to utilize, and on whom they may rely, as the two rosters mix together into one.

We believe Jordan Catlett will be among the more precious of those yet to be discovered treasures. We believe Catlett has “next level” ability and potential.

Identifying a weapon like Jordan Catlett should certainly help get the Christian County Tigers ready for the challenges ahead. That is why Jordan Catlett, is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week.
