I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do...🎶

’26 PK is a star on the women’s soccer team, is in the marching band, and will figure into the equation for the consolidated school’s roster

There is quite a bit of talent which will make the newly minted, consolidated high school formidable when it takes the field for its inaugural season. There is not a more talented nor versatile skill set on the entire roster than ’26 PK, Jayleigh Campbell. Campbell is a star on the women’s soccer team and figures to be the same on that team’s consolidated roster. Campbell is a member of the marching band at CCHS. Campbell was the Colonels’s place kicker in ’25, its last year of competing, and handled both the kick-off responsibilities and kicking PATs, something she did with nearly 82% accuracy (9 of 11). Hoptown’s PK, Gavin Harton, is graduating making the job Campbell’s to lose it would seem. This is the first female player we have featured in the over 11-years we have been online. We are so excited.

Big Ass Fans Large School Football Team Reveal Show

Hopkinsville, KY: In late 1974, early 1975, Pure Prairie League released a song entitled “Amie.” Here is the band performing it live.

It is one of my all-time favorite songs. Sure, it doesn’t have a darn thing to do with Kayleigh Campbell, other than the given names “Amie” and “Kayleigh” rhyming. Okay, it’s a reach.

There is a line somewhat applicable from the lyrics. In the chorus you find the lyrics, 🎶I think I could stay with you/For a while, maybe longer if I do…🎶 You will have to forgive Coach Lopez if he is humming those very lyrics in his head.

Kayleigh Campbell is a competent and proven performer as a PKer at the 6A level. Lopez could well think he could stay with her for while, maybe longer…

Lopez knows good, competent place-kicking is not easily found all the time. Having a kicker who is money putting PATs through the uprights is a luxury not all teams enjoy.

Campbell is money on PATs. Campbell has a strong, lithe leg. We believe Campbell will be money on FGs too, if given the opportunities.

Campbell knows all about competing, whether it is as a football player on a 6A varsity roster, in the marching band, or as a star on the women’s soccer team. Campbell has been there, she has done that. There’s something to be said about those characteristics too.

The new-look Christian County Tigers (6A) will boast as much roster talent as any team in the first district

Friday Night Fletch

Campbell is listed as a 5’4″ athlete who exhibits a big leg when sending the opening kickoff deep. Campbell exhibits impeccable technique (consistent swing, proper plant, ball contact), and elite mental toughness (handling pressure, confidence, focus).

Add those attributes to her overall athleticism and dedication to practice, including her playing other sports and mastering their unique skill sets for game-winning consistency and Campbell is the total package. Campbell is also quite the accomplished and consistent practitioner of the craft.

We don’t know what the future holds for the Tigers as two former rosters will join to form one football team. It will be both a hard and bitter pill for sworn enemies to disavow age-old prejudices in favor of comity and uniting against new foes, new enemies.

We do know this, the new Christian County Tigers may find some truffles hidden amongst the roots of the Christian County Colonels former football roster. They may find some next-level type kids to utilize, and on whom they may rely, as the two rosters mix together into one.

Identifying Campbell amongst the “truffles” is hardly a stretch. Matter of fact, many in the area press corp would readily join in our praise for this player.

Identifying a weapon like Kayleigh Campbell should certainly help get the Christian County Tigers ready for the challenges ahead. That is why Kayleigh Campbell, is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week.
