If you have been reading our weekly “Outstanding Performances…” articles, the series of articles should have impressed upon you how very difficult winning this award really is. We had another spectacular week where there were numerous performances any one of which would have been a fine performance to single-out. This week, heading into the Championships, we honor a senior who exhibited an outstanding effort leading his team to a Semi-State Title and helping take the whole lot grocery shopping on Kroger Field hunting the 4A Title to bring back to “Title Town.” This guy was tough between the tackles and tore up a normally stingy defense in the fourth round, finding the end-zone three times in the offing. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.

Well, it was round 4, a.k.a. the Semi-State Championships, and there were some mighty fine individual performances. Enjoy this look at some players who pushed or even “willed” their teams through to the other side and even a few who fell a little short through no fault of theirs. HB.

@JustinMillay from @SrHighFootball is the @1776Bank, “Revolutionary Player of the Week!” @Minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball

This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is Justin Millay, one of Kentucky’s top OT in the commonwealth. We love “The Bigs” around Independence Bank and KPGFootball and recognize this is where championship football teams are built. His fine play has advanced his team to a home, semifinal date with Frederick Douglass High School in the Semi-Finals with a birth in the Championship awaiting the winner. Go on by and see our friends at your local Independence Bank and thank them, not just for this series, but for the outstanding service and products which have started a revolution in the banking industry. Enjoy the article. HB.

Who wins…who loses, tomorrow night in the Semi-finals. @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @KHSAAFootball (Featured Photo: Les Dixon, Times-Tribune)

Here are our picks for the Semi-finals occurring tomorrow night. West Carter should be thrilled we didn’t pick them as it seems every time we disrespect them, they come away routing the other team. We may just disrespect them right into a championship. Anyway, there are several “upsets” we have taken here as this year has been anything but normal. Fletcher Long was furious with our Hoptown prediction (his alma mater) and vows we are all “crazy.” We shall see. HB.

What’s wrong with college football recruiting? Delving into “prospect-speak” and getting at what is actually being said when we’re asked to “trust the measurables!”

December 8, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

This article contains the official prospect evaluation of a kid ranked higher than any Kentuckian in the entire commonwealth. He has been committed since February of this year to Power-5, FBS-level powerhouse program in the most prestigious league in college football. Yet, if you read the evaluation, the evaluator has been quite clear the kid isn’t good at football. You should be able to clearly see this, if you can read ‘prospect-speak.’ Well, we can, and in this article we break this down for you. A kid with this evaluation should never have been offered by any school in Division 1. This is what makes recruiting the joke it has become. HB.
