’24 WR/RB/DB has displayed and incredibly vast array of tools for his Tigers
Xavier Biggers is an unbelievably versatile talent for one of the better programs on the western end of Kentucky at the 2A level of competition. Biggers has another year to show college recruiters what he is all about and we think he will make a huge impression this coming season.HB Lyon, Scouting Division, KPGFootball
There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.
Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a real three-phase superstar who is likely to strike for points on offense, defense, or even the special teams. This guy is a speedster who led the Tigers in ’22 in virtually all of the super important statistical categories. This week we are featuring Xavier Biggers, ’24 WR/RB/DB, from the Murray High Tigers.
Biggers’ Murray High is just down the road a piece from two Independence Bank branches. One of those is located on 507 North 12th Street and the other may be found on 721 South 12th Street both conveniently within the corporal limits of Murray, Kentucky. Get on by one of these fine branches today and discover what makes Independence Bank the fastest growing institution within the Kentucky Financial Service’s market.
Biggers performed “Bigly” this past year for his 2A football team. He gained 1,031-yards rushing in 87-carries (11.85-yards per attempt). He scored 11-rushing TD’s.
Biggers caught 10-passes for 294-yards and six (6) TD’s receiving. That is quite a bit of production from a team running the Veer offense.
Biggers led the team in scoring (110-points). Biggers was among the leaders in tackles (45). Biggers was 4th on the team in INT’s.
Now we are going to recap his production compared to the rest of the team to accentuate his importance. Biggers had the most carries, gained the most yards from scrimmage, scored the most TD’s rushing, led the team in yards per carry.
Biggers had the most receptions, had the most yards receiving, caught the most TD’s. Biggers led the team in scoring, tallying points rushing, receiving, returning a kickoff to pay dirt, and scoring a two-pointer following a TD.
On defense he was among the leaders in tackles. He was 4th on the team in INT’s and among the leaders in PBU’s (Passes Broken Up).
Biggers is a track guy. Biggers registered 40-yard dash time is 4.5-seconds and his being the regional track champion in the 200-meters would collaborate his 40-time.
Where does Biggers project, next level? Well, at 5’10” he probably will be viewed as a CB. Of course with his speed he could hit the field early in the return game. Regardless, it appears clear to us he will have a next level experience.
Between now and then, he will be leading the Murray High Tigers back to prominence. Won’t that be fun to watch?
Congratulations to Xavier Biggers, both for their Revolutionary Play over the course of the ’22 season and that which is to come as we brace for the Fall of ’23 football season which is just a few months away whether or not you realize it. Biggers’ contribution to his football team has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, your friends at Independence Bank.
