Wolfe County HS, Close to Closing Deal on New Head Football Coach

Wolfe County High School, a 1A classification school located in Campton, Kentucky, has shown through the years on the hardwood and other places it produces high quality athletes who can (and have) competed at the highest levels of high school sports. They also have a women’s volleyball program which is a regional heavyweight and nearly annual participant in Kentucky’s Volleyball State championships.

So, why would they not have a football team? Well, many of you don’t know this but, in fact, they do. Wolfe County began play in 2018 fielding a team which competed at the junior varsity level. After a year of competition, Wolfe County decided to go a different direction, coaching wise, and parted ways with its first football coach.

They have been in the market to fill that position in the hopes of continuing its ascent to Friday -night competition. They are close to closing on a deal which would bring a guy to town able to advance the program light-years in as short a span as is possible.

We, of course, know who the guy is, or we believe we do anyway. It would be inappropriate for us to disclose who we believe it to be until there is an official announcement and all the details for the deal aren’t yet ironed out, but we believe the respective sides to be close.

If it is who be believe, Wolfe County High School would be adding a gentleman with considerable high-school, and even small-college, football coaching-chops. This would be a guy who is strong in technique and fundamentals who will run schematically sound and very likely to be successful offensive and defensive systems which should fit well with his present personnel.

This is also a guy with a very strong background in physical sciences. This guy has before and will for Wolfe County design and implement a strength and conditioning program which will, in relative short time, build players who are strong, powerful, explosive, and well-conditioned.

Now we don’t know this to be absolutely the case, but we believe Wolfe County will field a JV team only for two more seasons (2020, 2021). With this guy in place, it is our expectation the Wolves will hit the Varsity playing field by the Fall of 2022. If you are a player eligible to play or one who will become eligible in short order, you should be very excited about this hire.
