Quinton Carlton has worked tirelessly and has performed sufficiently well enough to get to do something, going forward, that only 6.9 % of high school players will ever get to do. This week’s Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week is South Warren’s Kobe Martin who just put the wraps on an incredible sophomore season playing at Kentucky’s second highest classification and at one of Kentucky’s premier football programs. Talk about dropping the ball when it came to picking the Freshman All-State team in 2019, we darn sure missed on this cat. He is now our top-rated linebacker in his class. We have our eyes on him now. Better late than never we suppose. Enjoy the article…HB.
Five of our KPGFootball All-Staters were awarded certificates last night (with Jaylen Turner not pictured) by the Breathitt County Board of Education. Congratulations boys and thanks to the BOE for recognizing their considerable achievement. HB.
This bit of news will shock the high school coaching fraternity in Kentucky as Coach Peach had garnered a level of success over his stint at Anderson County which would make one think him immune from a decision like this. Peach had a wonderful tenure for the Bearcats and took the program to unprecedented heights over the course of his career there. He was 114-63 at Anderson County with a trip to the Championship game (2011) and a trip to the Semis (2013). We wish Coach Peach good fortune as he prepares for the next stage of his career. HB.

We used to call him “Big Bear” when covering him for Team Kentucky while he was in Middle School. He asked us not to so reference him that way so we quit. Now that he has grown into a literal grizzly, he has given us the go ahead to call him that once more. We are thrilled. He is one of the digital magazine’s very favorite players. Read why. HB.
This was a guy who really stood out to us especially for a sophomore. Jacob Gaines didn’t quite have an all-State year, but he wasn’t too far off either. Going forward we wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him blossom into one of Kentucky’s most recruited gridiron talents. HB.
We believe Wolfe County High School is close to announcing a new head football coach for its new program. We believe we know who it is. We won’t disclose the coach’s identity until the school has had the chance to make its own announcement. Maybe some of you can read between the lines…HB
