Webster County’s Shawn Guinn is this weeks’ Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week

This Week's Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Bank is...

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player whose performance exceeded both the Trojans’ and both the Webster County community’s expectations. We are focusing on the class of 2020, LB, Shawn Guinn, from Dixon, Kentucky right down the road from the Independence Bank branch located at 308 US-41, in nearby Sebree, Kentucky.

To say that the Trojans had a tough year is understated to say the least. I suppose, looking on the bright side, one could note their making the playoffs, though they lost to Owensboro Catholic in round one 74-0. The fact they made the playoffs, in spite of finishing the regular season 1-9 with its lone win being 36-6 over a hapless Fulton City which has elected to drop-out of KHSAA football competition in 2019, makes the play-off inclusion less noteworthy than it once was. Still, coach Zachary LaGrange has some good young players combing back and a community and school which supports his efforts. One of those players who should figure prominently in the Trojans’ plans in 2018 is linebacker Shawn Guinn. Guinn had a solid year this past season as one of the Trojan defenses’ leading playmakers. Guinn, through the first nine games of last season, tallied 30 tackles, 25 of which were of the solo variety. For the Trojans to right the ship and play commensurate to the glory days, it will take more efforts equal to, if not greater than, Guinn’s effort from a year ago.

Congratulations to Shawn Guinn for his Revolutionary Play which has earned him this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank.
