V. Wright, HC

Last year, there wasn’t a better defensive player in Clarksville, Tennessee than linebacker Taveris Albury. Albury, who also is a long-jumper for the Northwest Track Team with a leap of 28.5 feet just this past season, is the personification of explosive. That defining characteristic is readily apparent in his play on the football field for Northwest High School’s Vikings. Last year the 5-11, 200 pound linebacker led his team with 160 tackles collected over ten games. Seventy-three of those tackles were solos and he added 11 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and a caused fumble, which he recovered, just for good measure. Albury is coached by a head man in Vernon Wright whom we, at KPGFootballbelieve to be one of the most talented head coaches in all of Clarksville. Admittedly, the Vikings didn’t have the kind of year we have come to expect from a Vernon Wright coached football team (1-9), but any coach will tell you that, over the long haul, those type years are unavoidable with the talent ebbs and flows one experiences in a high school’s hallways. Talent like Albury should insure the Vikings won’t be down for long.

We are very proud to award to Class of 2020, LB, Taveris Albury, this week’s distinction as the Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, Montgomery County Player of the WeekKPGFootball continues to look forward to our partnership with Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys as we both continue to publicize and promote all of the fine young football players in and around Clarksville, Tennessee.

Congratulations to Taveris Albury for being our Meeks & Meeks, Attorneys, Montgomery County Area Player of the Week!
