5’10,” 175-pound, two-way player leading 5A in tackles and averaging over five (5) yards a carry
Trevor Joiner and Trevor Hardesty are called, “the Trevors” around the Muhlenberg County area. Both Trevors play LB on defense and both of them carry the football on offense. Joiner is 5’10,” 175 and Hardesty is 5’9,” 180. They are both excellent football players at the 5A, high school level. Joiner has one additional “brag” if you will; he is 5A’s leading tackler through it first salvo of games.

We don’t talk much about transfers until the transfer in question is cleared for play by the KHSAA. That is why when Trevor Joiner transferred over from Butler County to 5A Muhlenberg Central, we were silent.
Who hasn’t been silent has been Trevor Joiner’s game play. Joiner’s offseason work and in-season production are speaking volumes.
Joiner played much of this young season with a cast on his left arm. That cast has been removed.
The 5’10,” 175-pounder has registered a 230-pound power-clean and a 385-pound squat. Both of these lifts factor directly into tackling. Joiner has been doing quite a bit of that.
In three games, as the below graphic would disclose, Joiner has logged 41-solo tackles with two (2) assists and 43-total. He averages 14.3-tackles a night and already has two (2) TFLs.
We talked to a coach from the staff who preferred to remain anonymous. However, that being said, he told KPGFootball the following: “The two Trevors (Joiner and Hardesty) are the best LBs I’ve seen play at Muhlenberg in the multiple years I have been associated with this program.”
Joiner has the right attitude about this “football thing.” Joiner has published that “I feel like my work ethic separates me from the rest. I do everything in my power to get better every day.”
When asked about his goals, Joiner went on the record with “My goals are to compete at the college level. I want to strive for that college diploma.”
Not only are these goals lofty but they are utterly attainable. Joiner puts in the work. One-hundred and seventy-five pounders (175 lbs) don’t power clean 230-pounds either “naturally” or by accident. Same is true of squatting nearly 400-pounds.
Joiner and Hardesty are multi-level contributors to the team’s bottom line, playing offense and defense. Both Trevors carry the football a significant number of times per game. Both Trevors average around five (5) yards per carry, through the first three, with a date with Ohio County (5A, 0-3) looming.
All of the above described takes quite a bit of diligence. It is work Joiner doesn’t mind doing. Perhaps that is how one leads an entire classification (5A) in tackles.
As for Muhlenberg at Ohio County, one of these two teams gets off the 0-3 schneid tomorrow night. We like Muhlenberg by 10-points on the road in Hartford, KY.
