Thompson declares for NFL Draft @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @KyHighFootball, @WKUFootball, @_iamTankk

“The Tank” taking talents to NFL

He came to WKU an undersized walk-on with big dreams of playing FBS level football for his hometown Hilltoppers. He is leaving a man who accomplished all that he intended to and with flourish and style. They called him “The Tank” at WKU and we believe that is a nickname we gave him in high school. However he came to be called “Tank,” he was appropriately christened. Now he has declared for the NFL draft. Don’t bet against him, is all the advice we can give you.

We covered Terrion “The Tank” Thompson, when he was a star defensive lineman for the Purples of Bowling Green “Senior” High. He was only 16 or so when he was a senior in high school, but we are going on memory here. Literally no telling how ballyhooed he may have been had he not been so tender of age when playing his senior season.

Regardless, the undersized (6’0,” 285-pound) nose guard, inside leverage guy shone out over the course of his college playing career. Thompson proved himself. Thompson proved he belonged.

Tank proved it with 75-career tackles. Tank proved it with six career sacks. Tank proved it with the untold amount of chaos his routine backfield incursions caused opposing offenses.

There is way more to playing inside, along the defensive front, for a college football team than mere statistics can possibly measure. One has to do his job or the team suffers, even where that job is to hold a gap or two while sacrificing individual attainment. Tank did his job, both consistently and well.

Now Thompson is going pro. The same nay-sayers who doubted him the first time, are doubting him once more.

Go on and doubt him. Thompson doesn’t care.

Thompson has been feasting on doubts and jeers for years. Thompson eats them for breakfast.

The Tank has enjoyed proving a lot of “experts” wrong. He relishes the opportunity to make “believers” from former “doubters.”

Can he continue to do it? We aren’t betting against him!
