For the third consecutive week we canvass the commonwealth digging for exceptional performances to highlight and perhaps reward. This week we featured some 21 or so performances, and 26 if you want to count the offensive line from Madisonville who will be tough to beat for any award with their performance from this past weekend. This should start a ton of crap. Class 3A was particularly hard to predict this preseason. First of all, there were so many teams from a year ago completely decimated by graduation. There may be even better players waiting in the wings to take the departing players’ place but that is something hard for us to know. We don’t pick teams in our top-5 who can’t make it out of the district round of the playoffs in our estimation. This bothered the Murray High fans when we released our 2A top-5 and they were excluded. It is simple, we don’t see them getting past Mayfield two years in a row. Anyhow, here is our take concerning the 3A classification. Enjoy the feature. Let the debate commence. HB.

Uriah Virzi is a championship wrestler, a Regional Player of the Year in the KYMSFA, a Team Kentucky player, and a MS All-Stater. What he isn’t is a normal middle school football player or even a normal middle schooler. Most players at his level of development, and who have worked as hard as he, have left normalcy long ago.
