Tanner Wright from @southwestern_FB is the @Minguabeefjerky “Protein-packed performer of the week.” @PrepSpin @1776Bank @KyHighFootball #AllWarriorsRise

Talk about a guy exploding on the scene his junior year in 2020, Tanner was the [W]right man for the job on the reservation in the offensive backfield for the Warriors. It is only fitting a company known for selling one-of-a-kind, hand-cut, solid pieces of beef in its beef jerky products should decide to award its weekly distinction to a out of nowhere and out of sight performer at the running-back position. @AlexFarler, formerly @LchsLeslie has enrolled at Southwestern High School and practiced last night with @Southwestern_FB

This is a very solid pickup for Class 5A Southwestern High School in Pulaski County, Kentucky. Alex was an all-District performer a year ago and was one of the Eagles most reliable down-field receiving targets and one of its more capable coverage corners. He is a former “Team Kentuckian” so we know he possesses the ability to play the game at a very high level. He will need that ability because Southwestern has some “folks” to play in that very tough classification of competition. Enjoy the article. HB.

Coach Lyon’s Class 5A preseason top-10 football poll…

July 28, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 4A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 5A and we will complete the series tomorrow with Class 6A!

Did @Southwestern_FB’s Braiden Myers come out of the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic 2023’s top-rated offensive center?

June 18, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

There wasn’t much about Kentucky’s offensive performance versus Tennessee in the Future Stars Classic which we didn’t find…offensive, frankly. If there was a bright spot it was the play of Braden Myers from Pulaski County, Kentucky. Myers snap arrived on a pulse beat all afternoon, every single time, exactly where you would want it. He manned the A-gap, a hot bed of activity along any front so well you forgot he was out there and he showed great mobility moving down to the second level to pick up big blocks for Kentucky there. This kid firmly established that the formerly two man race for the class’s top offensive center between Bracken Castle and Matt Alex Ladd is now firmly a three man race and there may be a new leader in the clubhouse. We at Kentucky Prep Gridiron include Clarksville, Tennessee in our sphere owing to it being just across the border from Hopkinsville, Kentucky and largely considered in the same Metropolitan area as Hopkinsville.  As we continue to rev up for the upcoming season, we begin directing, at least partly, some focus on […]
