One of the things we notice first about a young big, like Silas Kennedy (6’4,” 275-pounds, ’28) are his feet. This kid has excellent feet and sink to go along with find height and good length. Kids with his frame are generally Division I, FBS football recruits. With his 4.25-GPA, he is a “take” at many, many levels and different leagues including a league called “The Ivy” or “The Ancient 8.” We don’t know where this kid will end up but we do expect him to populate the first string in ’26 and (potentially) on both sides of the scrimmage line (OT/DE). That defensive deployment should tell you all you need to know about his movement and quicks. This is a large, tall, long, explosive, “twitchy” kid who is a delight to know and the kind of kid you want on your roster. Enjoy the feature.

Talk about coming out of nowhere; nobody had Central Hardin playing the way the Bruins have played this year in any preseason prediction we read. Still, Hobbs was coming off an All-State performance his junior year, so he is a known commodity. How has he performed this year? Well enough to have many of the area’s finest college programs, at various levels of play, frothing at the mouth to sign him. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Coach Lyon’s Class 5A preseason top-10 football poll…

July 28, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 4A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 5A and we will complete the series tomorrow with Class 6A!

2024’s Cole Hodge…we’re pretty sure Tennessee won’t be happy to see he’s back…

May 23, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Tennessee will have to do something this year we don’t believe they have ever before had to accomplish in series history. The 7th-grade Team Tennessee Future Stars will again face the same QB who came back and beat them in the game a year ago when that guy was in the 6th grade. Can Cole Hodge win Offensive MVP in the 7th grade game two years in a row? We don’t know, but it sure will be fun to see the question answered. Enjoy today’s article regarding North Oldham’s Cole Hodge. It will be pay-walled tomorrow.

Kmart, outside of Crestwood, Kentucky, is a chain of discount department stores which have been popularized in movies the likes of Troop Beverly Hills, Beetlejuice, Six Days Seven Nights, Rain Man, and even the former late-night TV show, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. It is also famous for announcing periods of discount […]

Cooper Schwalbach, Class of 2019, bringing Highlands back

June 5, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

They were 6-6 last year, losing to South Oldham in the Class 5A playoffs, in round two, 35-34. They haven’t won a State Football Championship since 2014. The football team known throughout the Country as simply, Highlands, just isn’t the Ft. Thomas Highland High School football program we have traditionally come […]
