Calling the Hogs: Hightower’s run toward ‘Mr. Football’ will start where they all do…upfront @markezz_25, @BlueGreyFB, @All_American_Me, @Maroon_FB_MNHHS, @minguabeefjerky, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball

North Hopkins is big, fast, mobile, strong, powerful, and explosive all over the field on both sides of the scrimmage line. This is especially true upfront offensively. “The Bigs” don’t ever get enough credit in our humble opinion. Credit or no credit, North figures to have a RB in the thick of a “Mr. Football” race in 2025. To get there, or to get where the team wants to go, the Maroons will rely heavily (pardon the pun) on the five or six guys upfront. Enjoy this feature.

It is the offseason and Summer Drills are literally around the corner. This time of year, we are busy trying to forecast which teams will be in what races and which players may impact the season long, “Mr. Football” race. We love the country band “Diamond Rio” so much we couldn’t help but nickname Rio Litmer “Diamond Rio.” This guy may be slight of frame, but he has a ton of game. Litmer led Highlands to the 5A semis, which would gain you some leverage everywhere but where he is playing. The Bluebirds are hunting title number 24. Will it come this season? Will Litmer take home “Mr. Football?” We shall see! Enjoy the article.

Trevy Barber is the @1776Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week @purplesfootball @CoachSpader @BarberTrevy @minguabeefjerky @840WHAS

Trevy Barber is the most productive player at his position anywhere throughout the commonwealth of Kentucky. He was a sophomore in ’23 but that didn’t stop him from registering 84-catches, 16-of which went for TDs, for over a thousand yards (1,189). Get this, the kid also housed a kick. What a jewel for this or any roster. Enjoy this look at this superior WR/ATH in the 5A classification and don’t forget to get by your local Independence Bank and discover why and how our people, financial products, and services have started a revolution in the Kentucky banking industry. Checking in with one of our ‘Mr. Football’ Candidates, Kenyon Goodin from Collins High. @KenyonGoodin @EKUFootball @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @1776Bank @HLpreps @kyhighs @KyHighFootball @MaxPreps

We adorned this cat a “Mr. Football” candidate way back over nine (9) months ago. Since that crowning, Goodin hasn’t done anything but make us look rather prophetic. We decided we would check in on him half way through his senior year just to see what he was doing. What he is doing is wowing his end of Kentucky. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Is @ConyerC2 (Cristian Conyer) from @SouthWarrenFB the top-rated ’23 in @KyHighFootball? @minguabeefjerky @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @1776Bank

This is the time of year we start forecasting and even promoting players for the coveted “Mr. Football” distinction. Here is a guy we expect to be right in the mix next Fall for the award. We have seen him forecast headed to UK. We have seen him forecast to UT. Either program will be getting quite a specimen and quite a football player. Enjoy the feature. HB.

This is a new concept we are calling the “Second Time Around.” All of the teams we have chosen to feature played the other during the regular season. These are five matchups we believe may turn out differently than when the two teams first met in 2020. Here is our breakdown. Enjoy the article!

#Isaac Dixon from @BelfryFootball1 is the @minguabeefjery “Protein-packed Performer of the Week.” @PrepSpin, @KyHighFootball, @1776Bank

October 7, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

Talk about your protein-packed performers, this 5-11, 190-pound RB/DB for Belfry High School (3A) had a quite a night this past Friday. Matter of fact, he’s having quite the year. We think he is a bone fide “Mr. Football” candidate. He’s been in the running every week for the “prize.” If a night like what he had Friday doesn’t get you a T-shirt and some beef jerky, it is hard to imagine what one has to accomplish to win the award. Enjoy the article and join us next week as we honor another worthy recipient. HB.
