The Freshmen All-State Defenders…

January 20, 2020 Henry Lyon 1

Here are the KPGFootball Freshman All-State defenders. Certain people at places like Daviess County think it our responsibility to watch highlights of each freshman playing football across Kentucky and select the team from there. It is not. It is the responsibility of our subscribers, who pay for this right, to nominate worthy players who we review after that process is done. If a really good freshman is missed here it is because he wasn’t nominated. If you would like to apportion blame for that, are you a subscriber to this site? Did you nominate the freshman whose omission you find to be error?

The Class of 2023, Kentucky’s “Freshman Fifteen…”

June 25, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

This is part one of a two part series we are calling the “Freshman Fifteen.” These aren’t necessarily the best fifteen football players or prospects in Kentucky but they are fifteen players we believe most likely to play before the 2019 season is over in the varsity lineup. Some will play because the team has specific need where they are slotted and some will play because they are just that good. Join us tomorrow as we finish with the final seven but, for now, enjoy this article about the first 8 of the “Freshman Fifteen.”

Did @Southwestern_FB’s Braiden Myers come out of the Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic 2023’s top-rated offensive center?

June 18, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

There wasn’t much about Kentucky’s offensive performance versus Tennessee in the Future Stars Classic which we didn’t find…offensive, frankly. If there was a bright spot it was the play of Braden Myers from Pulaski County, Kentucky. Myers snap arrived on a pulse beat all afternoon, every single time, exactly where you would want it. He manned the A-gap, a hot bed of activity along any front so well you forgot he was out there and he showed great mobility moving down to the second level to pick up big blocks for Kentucky there. This kid firmly established that the formerly two man race for the class’s top offensive center between Bracken Castle and Matt Alex Ladd is now firmly a three man race and there may be a new leader in the clubhouse. May 9, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

Michael Jackson once wrote that he was going to start with the “Man in the Mirror.” When selecting a line of scrimmage, KPGFootball starts with the “Man in the Middle.” That “Man” for us is Matt Alex Ladd from Trigg County who is back to provide a cornerstone for this year’s version of Team Kentucky Future Stars (8th).

Defending our selections: Calling the Hogs…

November 5, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

I have entitled this article, written in defense of our offensive linemen selected to the Middle School All-State Football, Calling the Hogs. It dawned on me some readers may be too young to remember and appreciate the reference. I certainly mean no offense; au contraire, I mean it as a high compliment. The […]
