Well with the performances we are regularly seeing around Kentucky these days, it was bound to happen. We have a week we had to give out two awards. We got special permission to do it this one time so don’t be thinking this will become a “regular thing.” Matt Anderson is a top-flight sophomore RB whose performance Friday night was unbelievable. Anthony Johns is a hulking OL who also plays defense for a team which took down the defending state champion and top ranked team, Somerset, on this past Friday night. The game was in Somerset. Mason Moore is a player whose full potential is only just now starting to come to the fore. He is a 6-0, 180-pound safety man for Lexington Christian Academy and part of the best collection of 2022’s on any one football team, regardless of classification playing high school football in the commonwealth of Kentucky. We used to call him “Big Bear” when covering him for Team Kentucky while he was in Middle School. He asked us not to so reference him that way so we quit. Now that he has grown into a literal grizzly, he has given us the go ahead to call him that once more. We are thrilled. He is one of the digital magazine’s very favorite players. Read why. HB.

Tyler Morris is one of the most explosive athletes in the Kentucky Class of 2022. He may be its best football player too. With the size and physicality of a LB and the speed, agility, quickness, and explosion of a “skill,” Morris is the KHSAA’s version of the one-man band. Andrew Long’s play has Longs all over the commonwealth of Kentucky claiming relation to him, whether they believe themselves to really be kin or not. Someone making themselves a star will do that. Andrew Long is a star football player and high school linebacker with an incredibly high ceiling and incredible production from his junior campaign (2018).
