This week’s “Revolutionary Player of the Week” is one of Kentucky’s better LB/TE prospects in the class of 2023. Simon Ghee is a name you might not know but we highly recommend you learn. He is 6-2 and weighs 220 pounds and he is having quite a year for Class 4A, District 2 Warren East High School. Ghee and his teammates have a huge district showdown Friday night against Franklin-Simpson, a team which has historically had its way with both Warren East and the rest of District 2. Here’s one for our friends in Owensboro, Kentucky where Independence Bank has 3-branches presently. QB, Lincoln Clancy had huge shoes to fill when he inherited the job from 2019 graduate, Drew Hartz. So far the returns are very favorable. Most importantly, he has led the “Aces” to three wins against zero defeats. Catholic (2A) still has to play Owensboro “Senior” (5A), Apollo (6A), and Daviess County (6A) before everything is “said and done.” For now, Clancy is rolling and so is the team he has been entrusted to lead. Congratulations on being the “Revolutionary Player of the Week” and join us, this time next week, as we distinguish another worthy recipient. HB.

Andrew Munster was first awarded the Revolutionary Player of the Week by Independence Bank on January 26, 2019. With his recent selection to the “Herald-Leader Hundred” we thought now would be a good time to give the distinction to him a second time. There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank player of the week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry. This week’s recipient is a player who appeared in 10 or so games in 2019 as a sophomore on a roster which was heavily laden with senior talent. Chris Hill has the frame, hostility, and athletic ability to really come to the fore in 2020 and we look for him to do just that. Hill’s efforts will really make the Maroons’ offense roll this coming season and he figures to be in the rotation on the defense front too.
