Murray High may have a backfield full of the hardest names to spell in all of football. You virtually need a doctorate to even attempt to spell Rowdy Sokolowski, Brendon Dahncke, or Charvelle McCallister. This week’s recipient, Brendon Dahncke, had a particularly good game in one of his team’s more important games of the year, against cross-town, 4A, District 1 heavyweight, Calloway County. He is 6-2 and weighs 220 pounds and he is having quite a year for Class 4A, District 2 Warren East High School. Ghee and his teammates have a huge district showdown Friday night against Franklin-Simpson, a team which has historically had its way with both Warren East and the rest of District 2. Here’s one for our friends in Owensboro, Kentucky where Independence Bank has 3-branches presently. QB, Lincoln Clancy had huge shoes to fill when he inherited the job from 2019 graduate, Drew Hartz. So far the returns are very favorable. Most importantly, he has led the “Aces” to three wins against zero defeats. Catholic (2A) still has to play Owensboro “Senior” (5A), Apollo (6A), and Daviess County (6A) before everything is “said and done.” For now, Clancy is rolling and so is the team he has been entrusted to lead. Congratulations on being the “Revolutionary Player of the Week” and join us, this time next week, as we distinguish another worthy recipient. HB.
