My friends in Hopkinsville are mighty confident the Tigers will resume their historical place as the elite team in its district. Well they well may as there is plenty of talent on the Tiger roster, yearly. However, don’t overlook a Cougar team which has been depleted by graduation but is returning more talent than some of you realize. Enjoy this early look at our friends at Logan County High School.

Red Barnes has been a favorite of ours since he transferred to HHS from Wonder Junior High in West Memphis, Arkansas to play his sophomore season. He is one of the best defensive linemen in the Class of 2020 and one of its leading citizens too. This is a kid who we believe is a college football player (no doubt) but isn’t likely to be positioned in college where the Tigers have deployed him. The fact he has thrived along an even defensive front, though undersized, buttresses everything good about his ability we have consistently maintained. This kid is a winner and a player who makes teams for which he plays better teams. Can’t complement any young player anymore than that. Enjoy the article.

Some pretty significant players from across Kentucky are nursing some injuries which could possibly impact their teams’ performances in 2019. Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A and yesterday we projected Class 3A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 4A!
