National Signing Day!

February 5, 2020 Henry Lyon 0

Well, it is National Signing Day and some kids we kicked off covering when we first came on line are leaving us for the college ranks. We don’t feel as sad as the parents, but it is pretty close. Going to always remember the class of 2020. We are going to miss the class of 2020.

Coach Lyon’s Class 2A, preseason Top-10 Football Poll…

July 25, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

Someone contacted old Coach Lyon and asked when we were going to put out our preseason top-10 football polls for each classification. Well, today seemed like as good a day as any to continue the tradition. Since KPGFootball started with the top classification when picking district winners, this time we started with Class 1A. Today we give you our projections for the next classification up from the lowest one, here is Class 2A!

This is part three of our three-part series “Wandering through the wasteland…” Today we predict the district winners in Classes 2 and 1A. This concludes our series. I would mention Fletcher Long, formerly a writer here at KPGFootball and now working for Bluegrass Sports Nation called and said some coaches have taken strenuous exception to this analysis. To those offended, I am saddened you take offense. Still, we strive to be true to our craft and our opinion is just that…ours.

It is STUDENT-athlete, not student-ATHLETE; the migration toward elite academics over the football factory

June 20, 2019 Henry Lyon 0

This may be the most important article we have published. There is a trend taking over the commonwealth of Kentucky and we love it. The trend, committing to elite academic institutions over waiting on D-1s to come-off with an offer, appears to be spreading and thank the good Lord for that. Look people, it is STUDENT-athlete and not student-ATHLETE. Let’s be smart out there and use our athletic talents to set us up with academic opportunities which set us up for rewarding, fulfilling, and comfortable lives.

Kentuckians shine with performances at the APC…

April 28, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

We couldn’t get to every Kentucky performance and there were more outstanding performances from Kentucky athletes than we could possibly record. However, these performances were extraordinary and were worthy of mention on what was a find day for Kentucky prospects demonstrating they should be recruited as hard as any other state represented.

Danville’s Darrian Bell (Class of 2020) is a rolling stone and that is a very good thing…

April 18, 2019 Fletcher Long 0

It was once written that “…a rolling stone gathers no moss.” Well, there is no moss gathering under one of KPGFootball’s favorite 2020 prospects. His name is Darrian Bell and he delivers year after year, play after play, time and time again. He’s a tireless worker and a perpetual rolling stone who will have a big 2019, and you can bet on that. Danville will be back in 2019. Book that!

Danville’s DARRIAN will ring your BELL

July 10, 2018 Fletcher Long 0

I want to assure you of one thing mighty fast…if I have to tell you Danville High School‘s Darrian Maurice Bell, Class of 2020, is one of the best returning linebackers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky, then perhaps I should hire myself out to the Bells as a sports publicist, […]

Danville’s Darrian Bell, Class of 2020, steering the defense

The most senior rank in the United State’s Navy is Admiral, which, coincidentally, is the mascot of Danville High School‘s athletic teams. Historically, since its inception, Admirals have commanded fleets and squadrons, or the ships and dockyard facilities in major ports. An Admiral has overall command of naval forces in the line of […]
