Sometimes individual performances give rise to promise and expectation for the future even where it came in an unsuccessful bid for a victory. This past weekend the Trigg County Wildcats were hammered by a Caldwell team which has looked good all season in the 139-Bowl. That loss aside, and dropping to 1-4 on the year aside, the Wildcats still found elements about which to feel like there its considerable promise for the future under legendary coach, Curtis Higgins. MarQayvion Green had a strong night rushing the football and Caden Scott, who has come off injury, showed resilience under heavy pressure, shrugging off sack attempts to keep plays moving in the second half. These young kids getting all these valuable live game reps will pay off before too much longer. It just goes to show, one has to be omnipresently prepared, ready. This week our jacket patch goes to the young freshman who played like anything but a freshman (MarQayvion Green). He has been expected this year to be prepared, to be ready, and to perform and, thus far, he hasn’t disappointed.
