Coach Manning really had that South Hopkins football program humming. How much you ask? Well, they aren’t but a few years removed from playing for a KYMSFA state championship. Many of those stars are playing for the Storm right now. Coach Logan has suffered through some rebuilding years but folks around Morton’s Gap believe he has finally turned a corner. This week’s Revolutionary Player is one we had the pleasure of watching in the recent Tennessee/Kentucky Future Stars Classic. We believe he had the best game turned in by a WR at his stage of development we have ever before seen. That is mighty high praise indeed. In honor of the upcoming Kentucky-Tennessee Future Stars Classic, we thought we would honor a Madisonville area middle schooler. We have already awarded this award to Jordan Miles who made Team Kentucky as a DB. We thought why not award it to Anias MItchell, who is an Alternate and isn’t quite on the team yet but has certainly shown he belongs in unique company when it comes to playing the game of football.

Jordan Miles, though only currently in 7th grade, is certainly a name Madisonville area football fans want to begin to monitor. He’s already among the top of his graduating class, Kentucky-wide, as a football prospect and someone who may even garner early college offers. Regardless, he is the Independence Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week which is its own reward. Join us next week as we select a new recipient.
