JJ Austin is a workhorse for one of Kentucky’s premier programs. He leads the team in rushing, and rushing the football is what the Pirates do best. JJ is also more than a token defender. Kadin Hanshaw is among the more versatile performers in the entire commonwealth of Kentucky. One might say he is “in the lead” to represent the “Big Ass Fans” Large School All-State Football Offense at RB/LB in 2025. It is still early. However, what this guy did as a sophomore was pretty dad-burn impressive and made him a serious candidate for the ’24 team even though he ended up getting edged out. Some call him “Mario.” Some just call him “Rio.” All call him special. Litmer is the QB for one of the most high profile programs in Kentucky 5A or at any classification if we are being honest. Litmer is 6’0,” weighs 176-pounds and, at only 16-years of age, completed over 68% of his passing attempts his junior season and finished with a QBR of 128.1. Highlands won 11-games in ’24, made the semis, and have a vital piece back for another run in ’25. Who knows how far this “Mr. Football” candidate can take them.

There are good players all over the commonwealth. This is true of teams which enjoy success and it is equally true of teams and programs which tend to struggle. Dunbar High is coming off a 1-9 and is struggling a bit at the present time. That said, Elijah Lewis had a fantastic year. We are winding up our coverage of the ’25’s but didn’t want to drop these guys without reporting on a guy who stepped it up this year in tough circumstances. Dee Parker from Whitely County was one of the few RBs in 4A to rush for close to 2,000 yards while contributing in all three phases of the game. The third phase of football is often overlooked. I was watching the BYU/Colorado bowl game last week and BYU rode a third phase clinic to a 20-0 halftime lead and an eventual victory over a favored foe. The third phase can do that for you. Man Robinson was one of only three ’28’s to make either the small or large school all-state football teams. It has been hailed as the most thorough and comprehensive all-state football team in Kentucky history. Big Ass Fans and its selection committee honored 152-players, Kentucky wide, from each of its six (6) classifications. People on this team attend 81 of Kentucky 220-some odd high schools across the commonwealth. Two member of the Central Storm made the squad. We’re here to tell you about them.
