Jeremiah Smith is built and put together the right way. Smith is compact and strong with flexibility and the willingness to contribute in multiple phases of the game. We are very pleased to welcome Lasaters Coffee & Tea to our growing family of advertisers. The Kelley family has a very long history in the local football industry and several of the Kelleys have had their numbers retired owing to their familial history of playing excellence. Football has been very good to their family and they look for ways to give back to this very special community. Lasaters is a place one goes to get caffeinated and motivated and couldn’t we all use a bit more of that invigoration in our daily routines. Get by one (1) of our four (4) Christian County, Kentucky locations and enjoy the roasted flavor of a hot cup of warmth and love.

Are the Lions grooming Tyson McCray to play QB? @bigassfans, @eCampusdotcom, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball,

May 30, 2026 Fletcher Long 0

Every football team has a star player regardless of the degree to which the team has struggled in any one season. The same is true of the Lewis County Lions. Coach Dalton Stamm has a young freshman in Tyson McCray they believe will round into an effective QB, has played the position in JV and for the scout team, but who is presently a three-phase performer who has carried the ball from scrimmage, caught a handful of passes, and has registered 27-tackles, registered a pair of sacks, registered a pair of INTs, and accumulated 55-IRNYs on defense all over 10-games of run as a freshman. Not a ton of freshmen hit the Friday Night Field in 3A, District 6. With in-district toughies like Russell and East Carter looming, what McCray got done in ’25 is even more impressive. No telling what this kid might do when he fully, physically matures.

Frederick Douglass pumps out the prospects! Bates is certainly one. @PrestonBates_99, @coachnatemcpeek, @CoachJeffPoe, @FDouglassFB, @khsaafootball, @eCampusdotcom, @KyHighFootball, @bigassfans

There isn’t a program in all of Kentucky which pumps out more college prospects than Frederick Douglass High in Lexington, KY. These guys do a first rate job of developing talent. These guys do a first rate job of promoting talent. Coach Nathan McPeek is cementing himself among KHSAA football coaches as an elite practitioner. Preston Bates is a two-sport, varsity performer who plays defensive line for the Broncos. Bates has the feet, length, wind, and explosive twitchiness to thrive along a defensive front. Bates is listed as a ’28 kid but the roster from a season ago lists him as a “junior.” We will defer to the school’s recruiting site and call him a ’28, which makes him a rising junior and not a rising senior. Regardless, the 6’3,” 270-pound, multi-sport athlete should be a terror this coming season.

Walker Bell, from Calloway County, is the Bank of Cadiz & Trust Co.’s Feature of the Week @TupperBray43875, @KYHighFootball, @MurrayLedger, @CClakerfootball, @teeroyhowell, @khsaafootball, @bigassfans, @LasatersCoffee, @eCampusdotcom

Walker Bell is a ’29 guy who can play WR/QB/DB and who has a varied and dramatic athletic skill set. Bell played in six (6) games a year ago and performed admirably in a limited setting. Bell is very likely to round into an all-state performer either split out wide or in the Laker backfield on one or both sides of the scrimmage line. Players like Bell are part of the upgrade and development of talent undertaken by Coach Coby Lewis who is in his second year of an incredibly impressive rebuild. Walker Bell is a 5’9,” 155-pound, multi-phase, multi-sport performer who runs a 4.8-second 40-yard dash and is strong, powerful, explosive, and “twitchy.” Bell also plays soccer so he possess quick and nimble feet. Bell both was and still is a superlatively good athlete who excels at FB in addition to soccer. Enjoy this feature on this wonderfully gifted and talented young football star from your friends and neighbors at the Bank of Cadiz.
