Storm Warning: One of our most popular serial features

’25 safety looks to add to his list of ‘Big Plays’ from ’23 season

Jaylehn Johnson is a ’25 prospect who only played in 2-games in ’23. However, he sure made those two appearances count. Johnson is a versatile athlete who runs the 400-meter on the Track & Field team in 1:02.72. This means he is a versatile athlete who has tremendous strength and aerobic endurance, traits the Storm can utilize in the defensive back third this coming season.

Here comes the Storm!

Jaylehn Johnson didn’t get a bunch of run in ’23. With what he got done in the limited amount of playing time, it is easy to forecast he will get much more play his senior season upcoming.

The Storm is a program on the rise in the 3A classification. The team was 4-6 a year ago but just a few plays away from 7-3, 8-2. That “hard luck” which plagued the Storm a year ago will eventually turn.

Johnson got in two (2) games in ’23. In those two games, he resisted a tackle and an INT. It isn’t customary for players who play limited snaps to registered “specialty” statistics like interceptions, tackles for loss, passes broken up, or QB-sacks, etc.

If one were to follow Track & Field, one may discover that this Johnson cat is far from a fluke. Johnson competes in the 400-meter and clips it off around a minute flat (1:02.72).

Johnson is a versatile athlete we can’t wait to get to camp and see what his year of development and growth will net our program

Chris Manning, HFC, Hopkins County Central

Johnson has good speed, good endurance, and good “wind.” Those are all traits which translate to football.

We expect we will see much more of Mr. Johnson over the ’24 season. Don’t blink, he may just sprint right past you!
