We alluded to Montrell Baker when awarding this distinction to Benjamin Galluzzi on November 4, 2018. In that article, we specifically noted that in the first-round of the playoffs Baker had recorded a pair of QB sacks in the Jackets’ win over Chester County. Following the seaon, the 6-2, 185-pound DE, who dabbled some at RB, made the All-Region 5-4A team as a defensive lineman. He was one of several Yellow-Jackets selected to that post-season team.

Baker screams off the end with great burst and leg-drive, using his bend and athleticism to terrorize opposing backfields. We have no idea where, or even if, Baker has plans to play collegiately. Should he choose to give it the old college try…we have a little tip for teams out there with roster space for the upcoming Fall. You just might take a look at Mr. Baker who, in a college weight & conditioning program and, particularly, eating at a college training table, Baker could well blossom into an elite edge-defender at the right level. That is, if his play for the Yellow-Jackets provided any indication of his potential as we strongly believe it did.

Congratulations, to Montrell Baker for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
