Rakale Johnson among the best athletes in 2027’s class in the Derby City/in the Bluegrass @rakalej_32, @CoachWatson9, @FHS_Dawgs_FB, @khsaafootball, @KyHighFootball, @eCampusdotcom, @coachdov, @bigassfans,

’27 multiphase, multi-sport, ATH among Louisville’s best and Kentucky’s best

Rakale Johnson from Fairdale High numbers among the reasons Fairdale is, historically, among the class of the Derby City’s 5A football teams. There is so much prep talent in Kentucky largest city. Johnson is 6’3,” 220-pounds of athletic freak. Johnson is a WR/RB/OLB guy with three phase utility who also averages 7.3-points/7.3-rebounds a game playing basketball for Coach Michael Stinnett’s Region 6, 21st-district “Basketball ‘Dogs.” Johnson will have a monster senior season and should end up on quite a few recruiting boards on the gridiron going forward.

Johnson, “No. 8,” Hudl/X-Account

Louisville, KY: Sometimes our job is a bit daunting. Covering an entire commonwealth of football playing talent from pillar to post is awe-inspiring.

At least we have all year to do it. I am not really sure this topic can be adequately covered in three to four months. I don’t know how some of those guys even attempt it. We will pass.

Rakale Johnson is a prime example of the type of athlete/player who may go unnoticed with inadequate coverage. How many of you, before today, have heard of Johnson?

Every hand should be in the air. This guy is quite an athlete, quite a physical freak.

Still, not of ton of people in Fulton City will have heard of him. Not a ton of people in Ashland have heard of him. We would suspect the same would be true of Covington, Greeneville, and Whitesburg.

There are a ton of locations, within the commonwealth, where this guy is both talented and developed enough to be a household name; but, just isn’t. So, who’s to blame?

Johnson upholds his end…he performs!

It isn’t the kids fault. He’s upholding his end with his performance, training, and on-field and physical development. We believe it is the fault of the Kentucky HS football press corps. As members of said “corps,” we may have to own this one.

Still, as the leaders of the corps, we (earnestly trying) to do our part. Regarding Johnson, we elected to begin our part today.

Johnson is a multi-phase, multi-sport talent on one of 5A’s better teams. At 6’3,” 220-pounds he is among the more physically imposing too.

Johnson played some WR and RB last season as a junior. Johnson caught 24-passes for 443-yards and five (5) TDs. Johnson rushed the ball 77-times from scrimmage for 318-yards and 4-TDs. Johnson scored 66-points on offense for his 8-5 Bulldogs in 2025.

Among the points scored were Johnson’s four (4) rushing TDs and five (5) receiving TDs. Johnson also scored a “pick six” returned 57-yards. Johnson contributed three (3), two (2)-pointers scored on special teams.

Johnson was even more lethal as a defender in 2025. Johnson registered 51-tackles, four (4)-TFLs, a QB-sack, a FR, and an INT returned 57-yards for six (6) points.

Like Coach Lyon alluded to in his scout, Johnson was a star on the Bulldog basketball team. Johnson averaged 7.3-pts./7.3 rebounds a game and shot 63% from the charity stripe.

This is a kid competing on one of Kentucky’s more loaded rosters, at one of Kentucky’s largest enrollments, contributing in three (3) phases on the football field. This is also a guy who is among the basketball team’s better players.

This is a certainly a kid of whom you should have heard before, right? Well, now you have…
