Every now and again a magazine like ours should feature a hardworking kid with a team first mentality. You know the type. The type who prefers to lead by example and prides himself on being one of the smartest players on the field. Today, we elected to feature a guy to whom the only numbers which mattered were “wins” and “losses.” Enjoy the feature. HB.

Talk about starting revolutions, Centre College has begun one in the minds of many of its conference mates with the in-state singing class it assembled this offseason. Yessir, the play a little football in Danville, Kentucky both at the high school and college levels, but then again you are probably already cognizant of that. Enjoy this look at one of Kentucky’s top DBs playing for one of its most storied programs at its highest level of competition. It is getting pretty difficult to argue that Kentucky, on the high school level, is a “basketball state.” We aren’t seeing evidence of this when our in-state football talent hits the combine circuit at least. Anthony Johns and Tyler Morris came up huge in Indianapolis. How huge? Answers provide within this article. Enjoy the feature. HB.

As we say farewell to another group of ballers we have covered since they played in middle school, we get to meet and update our database with an entire new class of up-and-coming stars who will play their freshman seasons this coming Fall. Many of these guys will start on Friday Night sometime during their initial campaigns. Some of these guys will start night one, snap one and we aren’t talking about on specials either. Today, we are highlighting a kid we call around the magazine a “No-doubter.” Why? Well, you may have to just read this article and find out. HB.

We’ve had a rash of QB’s hit the national combine circuit and come away with faculty singing their praises. Today we award this to a McCracken County Mustang who, if you are tabulating Kentucky’s best among ’23 dual threat QBs, you might get out your pen and jot down this name. Enjoy this feature and join us again next week as this gets awarded to another worthy recipient.

Max Gibbs is a 10th-grade, rising Junior, dual-threat QB who has hit the national circuit and has really impressed. He attended the most recent QB Hit List combine and has come away with both a national ranking at his position and a star-rating. We would call that a pretty good week at Mingua Beef Jerky and we are sure you would readily agree. Enjoy this look at this week’s “Protein-packed Performer of the Week” and join us next week as we recognize another worthy recipient. HB.
