’27 DB took time to get in lineup but produced ‘starter’s production’ in no time at all
This guy is a ’27 DB playing football for Kentucky’s premier program in the “Big Boy” classification (6A). The Shamrocks are coming off back to back 6A titles and have won 29-KHSAA titles overall. Myles Howze played in 13-games for the Shamrocks as a sophomore and entered the starting lineup around game number eight (8). At 5’11,” 170-pounds, and also starring at catcher on the baseball team, this guy here is a cat. We believe we are seeing a “Mr. Football” candidate in a few seasons. Better keep your eyes on him.

Mingua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed Performer, Myles Howze, ’27 DB/ATH from Trinity High in Louisville, Kentucky.

Louisville, KY: We often describe Kentucky 6A as “Big Boy Football.” We do this because these schools in 6A have the largest enrollments.

This doesn’t imply we believe 6A teams are necessarily the best football teams in the KHSAA. There are prestigious programs at all levels of competition.
There are years where the 6A classification has the best football team in Kentucky. There are years where “Kentucky’s best team” resides in one of the smaller classes.
Enrollment in Kentucky doesn’t (necessarily) indicated quality of game play. Just so you know.
That aside, there is no question Trinity High School, in Louisville, Kentucky, consistently plays the highest brand of high school football in the commonwealth. With 29-KHSAA titles to its credit, The Rocks (or Shamrocks), are among the more prestigious programs in the USA, much less Kentucky.
You have heard our claim “college players” find the field sometime during their sophomore seasons in high school. In truth, finding the field sometime during the sophomore season is more compelling at some high school programs than others.
Myles Howze picked five (5) passes, registered 29-tackles, and five (5) TFLs as a sophomore at Trinity High

Finding the field as a sophomore for the Trinity Shamrocks is as compelling an argument as any one athlete can make. Myles Howze didn’t just find the field, he thrived.

Howze played in 13-games as a sophomore for The Rocks. Howze didn’t find the starting lineup in the defensive backfield until game eight.
Howze is 5’11,” and weighs in at 170-pounds. Howze registered 29-tackles, five (5) TFLs, with five (5) INTs. For a “sometimes starter” at one of the Midwest/Southeast’s more prominent football programs, that is cooking with gas, man!
Howze has the type of versatile skill set we crave in young players. Howze is a baseball standout for The Rocks and plays behind the plate (catcher) on the diamond.
In case we forget, Howze also carries a 4.0-GPA at one of Kentucky’s more academically challenging curricula in the Bluegrass. College football (and maybe even baseball) programs will find this is an easy take.
Trinity High is coming off back-to-back 6A football titles. The Shamrocks boast 29-titles in its history, winning its last 10 appearances and 17 of its last 18. Put another way, when they reach the game, they generally win the game.
Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Trinity High School’s Myles Howze.
