’25 QB has his team playing its best at the right time

We have covered Max Pelfry since he was a middle school phenom making the all-star rounds throughout the commonwealth. His high school career has fulfilled every bit of promise forecast for him when he was playing middle school football. Pelfry and his teammates have undergone a tremendous turnaround from ’23’s 1-10. Pelfry has played a huge role in that as the Bulldogs ready for a trip to Williamsburg for a round two opportunity.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.

There is way more to Big Ass Fan’s product line than its size. Each fan Big Ass Fans makes is backed by a commitment to performance, reliability, and innovation that has been the driving force behind the company for over twenty years.

The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.

Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product. Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator…and, these days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

Hazard, KY: There has been no more strident nor impressive of a turnaround, in the KHSAA, than what have experienced through the 1A, 8th-District, Hazard Bulldogs. This once proud program fell to 1-10 in 2023, hired a new coach in the offseason, and looks to be a serious 1A Kentucky title contender as we enter the second round of the ’24 KHSAA playoffs.

Chandler, backwards cap

Matt Chandler came over from Franklin County and what a job he has done! The Bulldogs stand at 7-4, are just a field goal away from 8-3, and competed pretty dad-burn well when playing the defending Kentucky 1A champions, Pikeville, on October 25 in Pike County, Kentucky.

At the center of it all has been a plucky, tough, heady senior QB named Max Pelfry. Against Harlan, a team the Bulldogs smoked (52-0), Pelfry completed 72% of his passes (18 for 25), for 231-yards through the air, throwing four (4) TDs against zero (0) INTs.

Pelfry has been getting it done all year. On the season, Pelfry has thrown for 2,254-yards, completed close to 66% of his throws, with 24-TDs through the air and only six (6) picks; a 4:1 TD to INT ratio. Pretty efficient, wouldn’t you agree?

Pelfry completed 66% of his throws for 2,254-yards and 24-TDs leading his team to a 7-4 record

KHSAA Statistical Website

Pelfry is 6’1,” and weighs 190-pounds. Pelfry moves pretty well as his eight (8) rushing TDs would underscore.

Hazard travels to play Williamsburg, this Friday night, in the KHSAA’s round two of the football championships. Hazard has a Durden Ratings Index (DRI) score of 77 for fifth best in the 1A classification. Williamsburg has a DRI of 61.14285714.

We like Hazard to push its record to 8-4 and to advance to the Regional Championship round. Taking into account the DRIs, and our own internal algorithm we use to evaluate such things, we like Hazard over Williamsburg by the score of 34-21.

KPGFootball's Prediction: Hazard (DRI of 77) 34, Williamsburg (DRI of 61.14285714) 21

Join us next Friday when we feature another worthy KHSAA football player. Until then, let’s keep it comfortable out there Kentucky; and should you need any help with that; contact our friends at Big Ass Fans!
