@loftonhoward1 (for the second time) from @GHSGatorFball is the @1776Bank Revolutionary Player of the Week! @minguabeefjerky @KyHighFootball @PrepSpin

There is no better time than the present to anoint another Independence Bank Player of the Week. Independence Bank is proud to sponsor a weekly article highlighting players in the areas where Independence Bank flourishes who embody the same type of revolutionary service to their respective football teams which has made Independence Bank unique and special in the banking industry.

Independence Bank has a goal of achieving everyday excellence, and this week we are focusing on a player who, quite frankly, is one of the Class of 2023’s more highly coveted players, particularly on defense where he plays free safety. This is our second time honoring Lofton Howard, as we featured him after his team played Logan County back during the season, but have you guys been keeping up with this kid’s play? He has to be one of ’23’s very best across Kentucky and we aren’t even kidding.

Howard’s Greenwood High School is right down the road from three Independence Bank branches. First, there is the Fairview Avenue Branch, 977 Fairview Avenue; second, and one of our favorites, is the Freedom Square Branch, 1950 Scottsville Road; and third is the Nashville Road Branch located on 2415 Nashville Road all three of which are in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Go on down and see our friends at either one or, perhaps all three, of these Independence Bank locations. Give them both the opportunity and privilege to earn your business. Let them demonstrate to you what makes Independence Bank the best in the banking business  and the fastest growing financial institution in Kentucky.

Lofton Howard, how long before he starts showing up on all-everything lists?

Lofton Howard is a 6-3, 200-pound, Class of 2023 prospect, who has the frame, length, and athleticism to make a big splash either at QB, where he deploys offensively when he eventually works himself up the depth chart, or at FS, where his play really shone over his 9-games of action during the ’20 season.

Listen, we aren’t kidding about this kid. I don’t know if we need to jump up and down or what but this is a kid who needs to start showing up on lists around the commonwealth if the list-maker wants to be taken seriously.

Here’s what Howard did as a sophomore over the course of the entire season. He, in only nine-games, led the team in tackles with 87, was second on the team in TFLs with 5, was second on the team in interceptions with 3, had the Gator’s only pick-six, and recovered one of the team’s 9-FRs.

Howard was second on the team in scoring (TD rushing, 4-TDs receiving, one pick-six, and two safeties). Howard was 3rd on the team in rushing from scrimmage. Howard was the team’s second leading passer. Howard led the team in TDs receiving.

Frankly, we just can’t imagine what else we could have asked of the young man. Independence Bank might want to think about signing this guy to work for them, he can literally excel at anything. Kind of sounds like them.

Did we mention the guy carries a 3.7 GPA? We sure didn’t want to leave that out of the article.

Congratulations, Lofton Howard, both for your Revolutionary Play in ’20 and that which is to come in 2021, all of which has earned you this week’s recognition. Go out there and show them of what you’re made, Lofton…your friends at Independence Bank will all be watching!

For the rest of you reading this, go see our friends at the fastest growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky who owe that growth to the men, women, and revolutionary financial products available for its banking customers. Go down and see our friends at your local Independence Bank.
