KPGFootball adding a new principal writer to the fold…

First of all I want to say how much I have enjoyed getting to know players all over the commonwealth of Kentucky. When we started KPGFootball we believed Kentucky middle and high school football was an untapped subject matter which would draw tremendous interest if given the coverage we believed it deserved. Our numbers are our numbers and they demonstrate, fully, we were completely right. It has been an enjoyable and fruitful ride.

That being said, I am taking a job and relocating to another city in Kentucky which will have me working for a prestigious Kentucky high school football program. The reason for the move is completely unrelated to football and entirely related to a once-in-a-lifetime job opportunity which presents for my family and me a chance for a better quality of life.

Now, while the football job isn’t full-time; I am also working for the local high school on the academic side. Taken together with the football job, the result is a full-time commitment to this particular school.

In discussing the matter with the editorial board at the magazine, we have decided we should obtain another principal writer to publish on the magazine’s behalf to maintain our subject matter integrity and the objectivity of the publication’s articles. I may, from time to time, weigh in on matters and I am still going to be involved with the magazine but from more of the sidelines than the middle of the playing field as I have been.

Now the writer we are in the process of procuring is a really terrific writer with voluminous knowledge of both middle and high school football. He has a background in both coaching and in athletic administration.

This is a new and exciting time for the magazine, and its content. I am looking forward to reading this man’s perspective on the various topics we cover. As my time writing for the magazine is coming to an end, I want all of my many friends the job has afforded my making across Kentucky to know you will perpetually be in both my mind and heart.

This magazine, for as long as I am involved in it, will stay true to its original purpose of bringing much needed attention to athletes playing middle and high school football in Kentucky and its contiguous areas. Through this heightened publicity we hope those athletes are able to matriculate to the next level and get their educations paid for by the University and not by either their parent’s or by incurring extensive debt for the opportunity.

This is F.W. Long reporting regularly for the very last time for KPGFootball reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE!
