Keshawn Dixon (’26) compiling a heck of an All-State résumé
The Federal Government governmental shut-down affects people in various ways. One (probably) unintended consequence is the shut down keeping Fort Campbell from practicing or playing high school football. Think of these seniors missing games, their senior years. One guy who is particularly hurt by this is Fort Campbell’s Keshawn Dixon (’26). Dixon is having an All-State season and putting incredible production on the board for his Falcons. We can’t return to him his game or games (please, Lord; no more than one game); but we can recognize what he has done to date!

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.
The logo is the rear of a donkey (Fanny) swishing its tail back and forth. The trademarked logo is among Kentucky’s more celebrated and well known corporate identities across the commonwealth and has come to represent commitment to quality, cutting-edge innovation, and product reliability.
Big Ass Fans is so much more than just a gigantic fan. It is gigantic quality, gigantic performance, and a gigantic commitment to reliability and innovation. Its size is far from the only selling point about our product. Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator…and, these days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

Oak Grove (Fort Campbell), KY: The US federal government has shut down after Republican and Democratic politicians failed to resolve a budget dispute. That is as close as this publication will ever come to discussing the body politic.
Some, but not all, US government services are temporarily suspended. As we understand it, 40% of the federal workforce – about 750,000 people – are expected to be put on unpaid leave. That is a ton of impacted people.

This has unexpected consequences. An unforeseen (perhaps) consequence is the assault it has waged on the All-State caliber year being pieced together by Fort Campbell High School’s, Keshawn Dixon.
Keshawn Dixon is a 2026 RB/LB, in western Kentucky’s first district, in the first district’s 2A classification. Fort Campbell (3-3) was supposed to play Trigg County (1-5) at Fryar Stadium, in Oak Grove, on the Fort Campbell Military Base Friday night (October 3, 2025).
With the government shut down, the Falcons and Trigg County’s Wildcats lose that game. There is no present plan to reschedule.
It is a district matchup. It has both playoff and seeding implications.
It has implications extending beyond even that. Dixon is having one heck of a year in a season important to his recruitment; quintessential to his future.
Keshawn Dixon may be the best RB in the West below the 4A level of play
Friday Night Fletch
Through six-games (6), Dixon has gained 1,039 yards and scored 14-TDs. The Do-it-All senior has completed a pass for 29-yards, caught 10-passes for 169-yards and a TD, and leads the team in scoring with 15-points a game (90 of the 157-points the entire team has scored; 58%).
Dixon also plays on defense. Dixon has registered 61-tackles, 9-TFLs, and a sack. Add in his contributions to special teams and Dixon is the three (3) phase guy you always hear and read about us extolling/promoting.
Dixon is being evaluated presently by teams at all levels of college competition, from the NAIA to Division I. With the way recruiting works, these days (NIL/Transfer Portal), it might be advantageous for Dixon to start out at one level and earn his way to the next.
Dixon’s head coach at Fort Campbell, Henry Mitchell, has very little doubt about Dixon’s prospects and ability to fulfill them. If given the chance, Mitchell is convinced Dixon won’t let down anyone!
“There is little doubt about this prospect’s being successful, next level. All [Dixon] needs is a chance,” Mitchell tells KPGFootball. Dixon is a solid “B” student at Fort Campbell so his sailing through the NCAA “Clearinghouse” seems just as much a certainty.
For now, those federal government guys need to get their collective heads out of their rears and get these kids back to playing. C’mon guys, weren’t some of you ever seniors? Weren’t some of you ever athletes? You should know how important this kind of stuff really is. Rant over.
Keshawn Dixon is out there making a huge difference for his team. Dixon, his teammates, and his coaching staff all keep it cool out there on Kentucky’s western end of the commonwealth! In the end, let’s do something for all of them.
End this shut down! Go back to work!
