2024 DB/ATH named News Radio 840WHAS & KPGFootball Defensive Player of the Year

TJ Haskins, Jr. would probably tell you he is having a fine offseason already. The 6’1,” 170 pound third level defender was named to Friday Night Fletch‘s News Radio 840WHAS and KPGFootball Big School All-State Football Team and named its Defensive Player of the Year in addition to team inclusion. Try to say all that really fast. Haskins is a nationally ranked, 3-Star prospect (247Sports & Rivals) with offers from Akron, EKU, Louisville, Marshall, and Miami of OH among others. He helped lead his Defenders to the 6A-Title Game and where he goes from here is anyone’s guess. Wherever that is, he will go clothed and adequately fed.

Lexington, KY: Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein-packed PerformerJT Haskins, Jr., ’24 DB/ATH from Bryan Station High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

…[S]omething different and superior to all other beef jerkies…

KPGFootball on the quality of Mingua’s product

JT Haskins, Jr. (“Haskins”) is a guy who is a superior athlete and a superstar on the level he has just finished playing. We believe he will be a super star on the collegiate level too, and by collegiate we mean the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of Division I in the NCAA.

TJ Haskins, Jr., Bryan Station

Haskins is a 6’1,” 170 pound speedster who played significantly on both sides of the scrimmage line in Kentucky’s largest classification of competition (6A). By playing “both ways” we really meant he was a star on both sides of the football. On neither side were his contributions the least bit token.

Over the course of the ’23 season, Haskins caught 41-passes for 878-yards receiving and 10-TDs. He was third on the team in scoring. This isn’t the side of the football recruiters see him playing in college.

On defense, Haskins registered 50-tackles, 3-TFLs, forced a fumble, and picked seven (7) passes, returning one to the house for a “pick-six.” Haskins also registered 119 of the team’s 258 IRNYS.

As for where this prospect figures to land collegiately, he has offers from Akron, Louisville, EKU, Marshall, and Miami of Ohio among several others. We wouldn’t venture a guess as to which of these he might pick.

Friday Night Fletch

Haskins has had quite an offseason already. After leading his team to the 6A title game, a game it led 14-3 early before succumbing to Trinity 41-20, Haskins was named to the prestigious Friday Night Fletch’s News Radio 840WHAS & KPGFootball, Big School (4A, 5A, & 6A), All-State Football Team. He was also named its Defensive Player of the Year.

As for where this would rank among Haskins many honors is something you would have to ask him. We thought we might slide him some protein and an awesome T-shirt just to “sweeten the kitty” a little.

Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Bryan Station’s, TJ Haskins, Jr.
