Dynamite comes in small packages…
Reed Jefferies is a guy whose stature makes him a candidate to be overlooked. Yet, here is a guy who was just a sophomore a year ago and he got meaningful play on both sides of the football for the deepest roster and (arguably) the classification’s (3A) best overall football team. What will he do for his junior season? We think it will be epic!

I work hard on and off the field with drive, determination, and dedication. I love the game and have set a goal of playing at the next level.

Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.
Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.
Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.
Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein Packed Performer, Class of ’24, RB/DB, Reed Jefferies from Louisville, Kentucky’s Christian Academy High School (CAL), wouldn’t it?
You have heard it said “Dynamite comes in small packages.” Regardless of the size of the package, the explosion often registers quite the impact.
Today we bring you a player who is aptly described as a package of dynamite. While small(ish), he is explosive and dangerous in space with the ball in his hands. Centurion opponents are in for a surprise.
Reed Jefferies is 5’9″ and weighs approximately 150-pounds, soaking wet. That is a small kid to be suiting up, as a sophomore, for one of the best varsity rosters in Kentucky’s 3A classification. However, that is what he did.
Jefferies acquitted himself well, particularly for a sophomore on last year’s roster. Jefferies got 7-games of “Friday Night” run and scored a TD and registered an INT among his handful of rushes from scrimmage and defensive plays.
Jefferies even registered some “passes broken up” and a smattering of tackles sprinkled amongst the varsity action. It doesn’t take Nostradamus to predict Jefferies will get significantly more action over the course of his junior campaign.
The Centurions will need significant production out of him, and on both sides of the scrimmage line, to make a deep run in the coming playoffs. With his 3.76 GPA at one of Kentucky’s elite private schools, this point isn’t lost on Jefferies.
Jefferies has set a goal to play collegiately the game he loves. We wouldn’t bet against him.
Mingua Beef Jerky and we decided this talented and exceptionally explosive ’24 football player, and rising junior, could use a bolt of protein. The company volunteered to send him some straight away.
Join us next week as we honor another worthy player. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from all the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like CAL’s Reed Jefferies
This is HB Lyon reporting for Kentucky Prep Gridiron reminding you that WE’RE JUST CALLING IT LIKE WE SEE IT and don’t forget to SAVOR THE FLAVOR!
