Haskins is uber-talented and playing for an up and coming football program
Jamaal Haskins is a freshman football player who has excelled in his athletic career as both a track and field athlete and on the gridiron. Haskins had quite the freshman season in ’25 and heading into the ’26 campaign has to be considered an elite player at his position at the 2A level of competition.

Big Ass Fans from Lexington, Kentucky has a simple corporate goal. The company is “creating a more comfortable world,” one fan at a time.

Its size is far from the only selling point about our product. Our product is a Kentucky Comfort Creator…and, these days, isn’t that exactly what Kentucky needs?

Louisville, KY: We have just closed the books on a glorious 2025 football season. There aren’t too many “experts” around the KHSAA football world who wouldn’t agree with what I am about to convey.
You better be on the look out for the Lions from WEB Dubois Academy in Louisville, KY. These guys give every indication to even the casual onlooker they are going to be a handful with whom to contend going forward.
The program has amassed some impressive talent. The program has also contributed the resources to become a power in the 2A classification.
One of the better players, particularly for a freshman, is ’29s Jamaal Haskins. Haskins is listed as a strong safety, outside linebacker but we like him at safety if we are being honest.
Doubling as a sprinter on the track & field team, we are quite confident he has the speed to continue to play in the defensive 3rd level. Haskins having the aggression to double at linebacker is an attribute colleges will appreciate as they court his services for their programs in the near future.
Haskins got plenty of varsity run as a freshman and did plenty with the run he was allotted. Haskins tallied 21-tackles, resisted a pair of INTs, and returned those picks some 61-net yards (IRNYs).
Haskins was a leader in passes broken up, a statistic not kept by teams at the KHSAA level. Haskins has a penchant for arriving at the ball carrier aggressively. Haskins arrives in an ill-humor.
Haskins is a guy we could easily see getting offensive snaps as his high school playing career progresses. Double-A ball is a level where the good players, the stars, almost have to pull multi-phase duty for the team to perform optimally.
Haskins was the leader in INTs and was among the leader in PBUs for his defense

At the end of the day what is truly important, and the sine qua non of high school coaching, is a coach’s ability to use a team’s talents and abilities to put players in position to succeed. That is the goal, that is the destination, and not too many coaches throughout the commonwealth can afford to platoon talent like Haskins regardless of how deep and talented the roster happens to be.
DuBois Academy went 4-7 in 2025. The Lions lost its opener to 1A powerhouse, Holy Cross (Lou.), by six; played the 1A champions, KCD; lost to 4A, seven game winner, Marion County, by six; played the 2A KHSAA champions (LCA); played 6A, Hopkinsville (7-5), competitively; and lost to an eight (8) win Monroe County team by a single point.
Not all 4-7s are similarly constructed. This was a darn-competitive four (4) win team.
That is our take on it anyway. What would we know?
