Greenbrier will have to see more of Ryan Lanius‘ big play capability, if they are to improve on 2018’s record in the Fall of 2019. At 5-9, and weighing a svelte 145-pounds, Lanius, a class of 2020 prospect, doesn’t have the type of edge frame one would expect from a target routinely called upon to gain down-field separation from opposing corners. That doesn’t appear to stop Lanius from doing it, however.

Lanius is a kid who plays WR on offense and doubles as a corner on the other side of the ball. Ryan has what we call “sneaky-speed.” KPGFootball can’t tell you anything about what his sprint times are, as none appeared of record anywhere on line when we researched the writing of this particular article. However, he seemed to get behind the opponents’ corners when called upon for that service and seemed to get over the top of the opponent’s vertical routes when tested defensively from his corner post.

So, how fast is Lanius? From his play we watched on film during the 2018 season, it would seem to both KPGfootball and Stewart Williams Furniture Company he’s just fast enough.

Congratulations, to Ryan Lanius for being selected this week’s Stewart Williams Furniture Company’s Robertson County Player of the Week. Join us next week as we anoint a new recipient.
