’27 two way player showed up against the Tigers from Caldwell
Francisco Ramirez is a player who keeps coming up big for his ball club. Ramirez, entering the Crittenden game, was 4th on the team in rushing, manning down a slot on the return and coverage units, and among the team leaders in tackles, TFLs, sacks, and FRs. Heck, Ramirez is a full third of the ball club’s QB-sacks. Now if that isn’t value; what is? The Falcons are 3-5 with two (2) games remaining. One is at Mayfield the other is at home with Trigg County in Fryar Stadium. The Falcons will be incredibly lop-sided underdogs to beat Mayfield but will have a puncher’s chance of beating Trigg County with the present state of the Wildcats’ lineup visa vie Trigg’s injury situation. What will the Falcons do down the home stretch? We shall see…

Oak Grove, KY: Fort Campbell came into the Crittenden game needing a win if it hoped to reach .500 by playoff time. That isn’t to say we can’t beat Mayfield, but even the biggest Falcon fan would have to term the probability as “unlikely.”

shall Patterson
We agree, if any two teams enter a stadium, either of them can win; we saw that last year with an incredible upset by our Falcons over the (5A) Maroons from Madisonville-North Hopkins. However, if you were laying a bet, and the spread was “straight up,” how many of you would bet the house on the Falcons beating Mayfield in Memorial Stadium in Mayfield, KY? Yeah, we wouldn’t either.
All of that aside, teams with stud-horses at RB can win any game. We have that in Keshawn Dixon and then some.
This past Friday night, Fort Campbell played a very tradition-rich Crittenden County squad and entered the 4th-quarter with a lead, 31-28. The Falcons couldn’t hold that lead; and the fact we incurred nearly twice the penalty yardage (80 for us, 41-for them) certainly didn’t help. Still, the Falcons tallied 448-yards of offense, surrendered 340, and lost 42-31, to a Crittenden team which has won five (5) of its previous six (6) games and can certainly be termed as “hot.”
This past Friday night, the Falcons entered the 4th-Q staked to a three (3) point lead…
Friday Night Fletch
Francisco Ramirez has been a bright spot for a defense which has had some issues getting off the field. Ramirez entered the Crittenden game with 17-tackles on the year with three (3) of those being QB-sacks and a pair of them being for losses.
The Falcons only had nine (9) sacks entering the Crittenden game. One player contributing a full third of the team’s sacks is significant.
The Fort is 3-5 on the year with two (2) games remaining. This coming game, with Mayfield on the road, is certainly tough and the Falcons have to be considered “long shots” to emerge victorious. However, as we learned well a season ago against 5A power Madisonville North Hopkins, any time two teams walk on a football field either of them could win the game.
This is even more true when the roster contains some of the athletes and pieces at the disposal of Coach Mitchell and his staff. Identifying a potential weapon like Francisco Ramirez should certainly help get ready for the challenge ahead. That is why Francisco Ramirez is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Player of the Week.

That being said we felt it was high time for people around Oak Grove, KY (Fort Campbell High) to take notice of this outstanding performer and outstanding young man. Hey Fort Campbell, as far as Francisco Ramirez is concerned; it’s time to wake up and smell the coffee!
In an effort to help this prospect’s continued development, Francisco Ramirez may go, this Friday (October 24, 2025), to any of our area locations and be served a free drink of his choice and free breakfast or other sandwich/food item on us!
