’26 RB/ATH an All-State performer in two separate sports
Evan Hampton just was selected to our Big School All-State Football team on which we collaborated with the oldest and most prestigious radio station in Kentucky (840WHAS), especially Louisville. This guy averaged 10.7-ypc this past season, scoring 163-points, as a RB for the Red Devils. When baseball season rolls around, Hampton, a UK Baseball commit, will be thrust in the limelight once more.

This week’s recipient had an incredibly effective season running the football for one of 5A’s most storied football traditions. Today we honor Evan Hampton, ’26 RB, from Owensboro, Kentucky’s Senior High.
Owensboro (Senior) High School is located right down the road from 3 Independence Bank branches on 2425 Frederica Street, 2465 W. Parrish Avenue(pictured), and 3228 KY-54, respectively. Get on by and visit the most rapidly growing bank in the commonwealth of Kentucky, Independence Bank. Independence Bank has started a revolution in the banking industry.
Evan Hampton just finished his sophomore year. If any of you “diehards” out there are wondering how this guy slipped your notice until this year it may be because he was a freshman in 2022.
Talk about breakout seasons, Hampton gained 1,552-yards from scrimmage this season in only 145-carries. Hampton scored 25-rushing TDs and led the team with 44-receptions for 527-yards and another pair of TDs.
Hampton was the team’s leading scorer with 163-points. Hampton averaged 10.7-yards per carry and scored a TD every 5.8-carries.
Now, in addition to football, Hampton is the top baseball prospect in the KHSAA graduating in the ’26 class. How good is he? Well, he’s already committed to UK, who was quick to offer on the five-tool prospect.
Hampton’s prowess is far from only observable on the athletic field. Hampton is carrying a 4.17 GPA in the classroom.
Hampton and his teammates are entering the offseason stoked about what the future holds. The Red Devils will have plenty of firepower returning in ’24 and it isn’t as if the Devils were struggling in ’23.
Owensboro went 9-5 in ’23, made the program’s 4th-Semi-state in succession (Try saying that five times really fast), and dropped its semi-state game to the classification’s eventual champion. Who knows, maybe next year, with the return of a substantial cachet of talent, it just may be the Red Devils’ year.
Congratulations to Evan Hampton for his selection to the 840WHAS & KPGFootball Big-School All-State Football team and his Revolutionary Play which has earned this week’s recognition from the fastest growing bank in the Commonwealth of Kentucky…your friends at Independence Bank.
