Selections cover everything from skills to linemen
Big Ass Fans has published its small and large school, all-state football teams. Some of the names should sound familiar. Four particular players are guys for whom we bought breakfast this year. There were some Hoptown guys who were featured in yesterday’s article; but, these are the guys who didn’t make the Bank of Cadiz list. Let’s take a look at these four all-staters.

Christian County, KY: We are taking a look at four specific all-state football players, two on the small school team (Dixon and Perryman) and two on the large school team (Jackson and Dixon). Ladies and gentlemen, let’s deep dive into the four prospects.
Small School All-State FB Team

Marshall Patterson
Keshawn Dixon, ’26, Fort Campbell. Dixon only got 10-games of run this season but the diminutive superstar made the most of his opportunities. Dixon in 187-rushing attempts, gained 1,539 and scored 16-rushing TDs. Dixon averaged 8.2-yards per carry, was third on the team in receiving (15-receptions), and led the club in scoring, TFLs, and QB-sacks. Dixon registered 120-tackles (tied for the club lead), 22-TFLs, and five (5) sacks to go along with a pick returned 32-yards. Overall, this kid did everything for his team.
JaCaryous Perryman, ’26, DB, Fort Campbell. Perryman joins his teammate and RB, Keshawn Dixon, on this team and for good reason. Perryman was the team’s leading receiver, among the leading rushers, among the leading scorers, recorded 47-tackles and a sack, picked five (5) passes and returned the five some 119-yards. He did all of the above playing only nine games. Trust us when we say this…if you were fielding a 2A football team and could draw from all of the talent around KY, this guy here would be high up on that list.

Large School All-State FB Team
Kavon “Tank” Johnson, ’26 OG, 6’1,” 280-pounds, Hopkinsville High School: Two-way lineman playing Kentucky 6A football whose true value was difficult to measure. Johnson was kind of a tank. Matter of fact, that was what his teammates and coaches called him…”The Tank.” Johnson bench presses 315-pounds and squats 450. Behind Johnson and his mates, the Tigers boasted a lethal and prodigious offensive attack. The Tigers threw for close to 2,300-yards and 23-TDs with a first year starter at the helm (Jasiah McCarley, ’29 QB) and ran for another couple thousand yards with 34-rushing TDs, including 25 TDs on the ground scored by All-State RB, James Bradley, Jr. (’26). The Tigers scored 459-points over 12-games which comes out to a hair over 38-points a game.
Foster Jackson, ’26 OL/LB, 5’11,” 200-pounds, Hopkinsville High School: Okay, we just couldn’t resist…this kid here is a throw back to days gone by, days where the guards along an offensive front looked kind of like the rest of us and not the superhero proportioned Adonises we most commonly encounter these days. Jackson was his district’s lineman of the year in 6A, District 1, we would point out. Jackson led the ball club with 105-tackles, nine (9) tackles for loss, and three and a half (3.5) sacks, so there is that. Jackson picked a pair of INTs, tallied 53-IRNYs, and returned one of his INTs to the house. You can’t say the kid didn’t have one heck of a year. Behind the “Tank” and Jackson led OL, the Tigers boasted a lethal and prodigious offensive attack. Bottom line, if Foster Jackson were a couple inches taller and/or 60-or so pounds heavier, there would literally be no argument to be made regarding his inclusion on this team (or any other team). When your performance is exceptional, you make our All-State Football team unless we screw up and miss you. Your size alone should NEVER exclude you from this (or any other) high school all state football team. A player’s performance should count for something. This guy performed; therefore, we didn’t miss.
Jackson, and players like him, will never be excluded on frame alone. If you can play, you can play!
Friday Night Fletch

There are certain undeniable “truths” in the game of football. Among those are when you have big time talent handling the ball in the offensive backfield, with big time talent upfront; you will always have a chance on Friday night. The Falcons had those type of players in the backfield. The Tigers had some hosses upfront.
Evidence these ball clubs made some necessary strides was even more apparent this season where both rosters contained some of the athletes and pieces at the disposal of both coaching staffs. Identifying these potential weapons were tantamount to getting each squad prepared for the challenges ahead. That is why these four all-staters are our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Players of the Week.

That being said we felt it was high time for people around Christian County, KY (Fort Campbell and Hopkinsville High) to take notice of these outstanding performers and outstanding young men. Hey guys, when you have talents like Perryman, Dixon, Johnson, and Jackson it is time to wake up and smell the coffee!
Join us next week as we return to honor another weekly prize winner. Until then, get on down to one of our Christian County Area locations and remember, our products are superior and one of a kind; just like these four all-staters.
This is Friday Night Fletch, reporting for KPGFootball, reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE!
