We have been highlighting versatility and utility pretty hard for over a year now. These are prized attributes, ask any football coach. We are telling you about players, coaches, and events which are such a rich part of the fabric of the KHSAA that these stories deserve to be told, these fanciful yarns deserve preservation. This is another of those today. Today, we are highlighting a guy who really played well as a sophomore finding the lineup for eight (8) of the team’s 11-games. What will he do as a junior? If you were to look at all the ways Isac Earl contributed to Central’s bottom line over his junior season, you may draw the conclusion we did. He led the team in passing, led the team in receiving, led the team in scoring, was among the leaders in rushing, tackles, TFLs, and FFs. That is a ton of leadership out of one position. The 5’8,” 165-pound dynamo may be the Storm’s best all-around athlete on the roster not named “Gunn.” Enjoy this feature about a young man who brings on the stormy weather for Central foes.

Every year, rosters are charged with replacing outgoing talent with upgrades (if they are lucky). Eighth graders leave middle school, and enter ninth grade, more and more prepared to contribute on Friday nights than at any previous time. We checked in on Sylas Gunn to see how he was faring this basketball season and found the Storm’s Hoops Team has several athletes who would help the school’s football fortunes considerably. It has been hailed as the most thorough and comprehensive all-state football team in Kentucky history. Big Ass Fans and its selection committee honored 152-players, Kentucky wide, from each of its six (6) classifications. People on this team attend 81 of Kentucky 220-some odd high schools across the commonwealth. Two member of the Central Storm made the squad. We’re here to tell you about them.
