Looking back a few years, here was our very first Freshman All-State Football team. It really is scary how very accurate we were. Four years later, many of these guys are still the “big dogs” around the KHSAA at their respective positions. To make this team, you had to produce on Friday nights. We didn’t evaluate freshman or JV highlights then. Still don’t now. HB.

Well with the performances we are regularly seeing around Kentucky these days, it was bound to happen. We have a week we had to give out two awards. We got special permission to do it this one time so don’t be thinking this will become a “regular thing.” Matt Anderson is a top-flight sophomore RB whose performance Friday night was unbelievable. Anthony Johns is a hulking OL who also plays defense for a team which took down the defending state champion and top ranked team, Somerset, on this past Friday night. The game was in Somerset. West Carter is beginning to make quite a bit of noise around 2A’s 8th District. This team played Beechwood for a regional title a year ago and looked poised to make it, at least, that far again this coming season, pandemic permitting.
