They call him “Quise.” At 6’3,” 330-pounds, with a school record back squat of 605-pounds and a near 300-pound bench press, we will call him whatever he likes. Quise Smith is just another first rate, division I, “power four” type to come out of one of Bowling Green, Kentucky’s and Class 5A’s premier programs. This kid is a monster and had quite the sophomore season. Yessir, you are reading that correctly, he is a ’27. We can’t help but be reminded of ’18’s Jacob Lacey who signed with Notre Dame a few years ago. Let’s keep it comfortable out there, Kentucky, and allow Big Ass Fans to assist you in that regard.

Dalton Maynard plays for one of the better programs in 5A in Kentucky. That is how a program attracts an over 250-game winner and a former TN COY recipient to its head coaching position. Maynard ain’t no slouch either. This guy played in 12-games at the 5A level as a sophomore and looks to be a multi-phase contributor, going forward into 2025. St. Xavier’s Tigers have been playing championship level football for many years around the commonwealth’s largest classifications. The Tigers have won 15 KHSAA state football championships across different classifications, with titles in 1962, 1969, 1974, 1975, 1978, 1986, 1992, 1995, 1997, 1999, 2004, 2009, 2016, 2021, and 2023. Smith has made the All-WKC three straight years and was Calloway’s Defensive POY a year ago. JaCoveion Bussell is a kid of many skills and talents. He is a 20-point a game scorer on the MS basketball team. He is the reigning 8th-grade, D-2, KYMSFA Regional POY in football. Did we mention he is a 3.6-GPA guy? Don’t want to omit that. Bussell is zoned to attend Central and we are hoping that holds. Either way, he appears poised to challenge for early PT in high school on Friday Nights. Let’s pray there are a few Storm clouds in his future.

JoaQuinn Drake from Butler Traditional is our Mingua Beef Jerky Protein-packed Performer. He had 32-tackles, broke up 15-passing attempts, had a pair of tackles for loss, and didn’t allow a single TD in 178 pass coverage snaps. That is quite remarkable on a team which finished 2-9 and toward the bottom of the Kentucky RPI for 5A programs. Sometimes it is the guys who perform in spite of the performances around them who really astonish us. This guy here is a player colleges in the area should really study. We are pleased to announce we are getting in the “Mustang business” this season, the Muhlenberg County variety. This is a program which is developing talent at an impressive clip and has a core group of young talent coming up from middle school ready to compete for “Friday Night PT” as 9th graders. Some of them have the frame, power, strength, and explosion to “plug in” and they will certainly have the guidance. Brighter days are dead ahead Greenville.
