Cash Harney, from Covington Catholic, is Ca$h Money! @KyHighFootball @sfitz_840whas @840WHAS @minguabeefjerky

Covington Catholic's dual threat QB is a basketball star too

’26 dual threat has proven lethal with his feet

Cash Harney has gotten his ball club back to 2-2 after an 0-2 start. When you open with Ryle, Highlands, Simon Kenton, and Dixie Heights a slow start is somewhat understandable. Harney transferred over from Beechwood and the 5’11, 160-pounder will get to host the home folks this coming weekend as the Colonels brace to contest Beechwood High and its ferocious band of Tigers. Harney reminds many of us of Cam Hergott, a former dual threat and former “Mr. Football” for Beechwood. Maybe it’s Harney’s time.

Being “Cash Money,” according to the Urban Dictionary, means being cool or chill. Cash Harney is “Cash Money.” We’re making that declaration right now, right here.

This two sport, varsity athlete (basketball & football), is tearing up the ’24 season as a QB for Covington Catholic. We believe that to be very cool, very chill. Ask Harney’s teammates.

Harney had a huge night this past Friday night against Class 5A Dixie Heights. Harney completed six (6) of his nine (9) throws for 110-yards and a TD passing. Rushing the football, Harney carried it seven (7) times for 173-yards and four (4) TDs.

Friday Night Fletch

Friday night Harney will host his old compatriots, the Beechwood Tigers. Beechwood is the top ranked team in 2A, made the semis last season, and has won a ton of titles, both in 1A and 2A.

The Tigers are 4-0 with wins over Pulaski County (5A), Cambell County (6A), Dixie Heights (5A), and Simon Kenton (6A). Any time you play Beechwood, no matter in what classification you regularly compete, you better strap it on, Mister; because, you are in for a battle.

We like 4A, Covington Catholic, in this matchup in Park Hills, Kentucky this coming Friday night. These two teams are located nine (9) miles apart and their capabilities are as close as the distance between the two schools.

We believe Covington Catholic has a 65% chance of winning this Friday and that it will be a seven (7) point margin. We also believe Cash Harney is freaking “Cash Money,” son; and we know exactly what that means!

This is Friday Night Fletch, reporting for KPGFootball, reminding you to PLAY THROUGH THE WHISTLE!
