Isaac “Spike” Sowells is a framed out kid with the pedigree, athleticism, and smarts to make a fine FBS/Power 5 offensive center at the next level. He had a wonderful year this past season and his prospects seem to be ever brightening. Enjoy the feature. FL.

We just attended the Nashville AA Bowl at Lipscomb Academy on the campus of David Lipscomb. One of the better performances on the day was one which may have gone unnoticed to anyone without a “trained eye.” Anthony Hall, from Cadiz, Kentucky, was exceptional at long snapper. Enjoy the feature and don’t forget to #Savortheflavor. FL

Peyton Collins (’26) from North Laurel ready to take a big step forward in ’23… @peyton_collins1 @npcombine @teeroyhowell @NLJAGSFOOTBALL @athletics_nlhs @minguabeefjerky @1776Bank @PrepSpin @KyHighFootball @kyhighs @HLPreps

North Laurel is sending signals of its coming on as a program with which to reckon in upcoming seasons. While finishing 6-6, the Jaguars showed glimpses like beating Johnson Central this past season, no easy feat for any team. Young talent on hand and in the program like Peyton Collins is key to any program’s success. Enjoy the feature. FL.

This kid here has all the attributes one would want for the cornerstone of the offensive line either in high school or college. We have given this award to him before, but this degree of outstanding is worthy of recognition whether or not he has been before adorned. This is quite possibly the standard across Kentucky for interior offensive line play and particularly at the center slot in the ’24 class. Enjoy the feature and Congratulations to Carter Guillaume from Louisville’s St. Xavier High from Kentucky’s fastest growing financial institution setting the standard for excellence in the financial services, Kentucky market. Roger Duncan is a senior who helped propel Warren East to unprecedented height this past season. Now it is time to learn where this slightly thin TE will pledge his next four years. Union College has offered. Will there be others? Their flat should be! Fletcher Long

Tyshon Hutson had a fine year for the Carroll County High Panthers. He helped lead them to a 7-5 mark and Ade All-District at his Defensive Tackle post. We don’t know exactly what lies ahead for the young football star but we do know he has some beef jerky in his future. Enjoy this feature and don’t forget to take the time to #savortheflavor. HB.

A familiar refrain around the Tiger program for decades, ‘Better call Doc Long,’…well, now it may be the Hall of Fame doing the ‘calling.’ @minguabeefjerky @KyHighFootball @1776Bank @kyhighs

A lot goes into a high school football program’s being successful. You have to have coaching, administrators who care about the quality of the product, and medical personnel committed to keeping the athletic talent healthy and able to compete. Hoptown had that guy in its program somewhere around 20-years and for part of five separate coaching regimes. His name was Doctor Long. He was an institution unto itself on that sideline to coaches, players, and even referees. Enjoy the feature. HB.

Raceland has had a terrific season. It is Thanksgiving Day and the season is still ongoing so football fans know that means the season has gone alone swimmingly. Much of the defensive success for the Rams is partly attributable to a pair of splendid 2nd-level defenders. Happy Thanksgiving everyone and enjoy this look at these two top-flight ’23s. HB.
