The new Christian County Tigers could use some Lovan, every day!

There is quite a bit of talent which will make the newly minted, consolidated high school formidable when it takes the field for its inaugural season. For the Tigers to play with the big boys of 6A, in the KHSAA, they are going to need some linemen. The newly minted consolidated school will inherit a ’27, two-way guy who played quite well for the Christian County Colonels in 2025. His name is Stephan Lovan. Lovan played in all nine games in which statistics were kept. He was a vital piece of the blocking front and, on defense, was among the leaders in tackles for loss. Lovan has a nice frame on him and some bulk which could get much bulkier with an active offseason spent building up his physique the right way. Should that happen, “Gimme, Gimme me some [Lovan], everyday!”

Big Ass Fans Large School Football Team Reveal Show

Hopkinsville, KY: In case any of you are wondering, when the two schools combine into one and consolidate their rosters to play in 2026, there aren’t too many worried the new Christian County Tigers will be lacking in skill player development. The Christian County area has always produced athletes. They will continue to do so.

To be good in 6A football in Kentucky, to play with the Trinitys, the St. Xaviers, the Ryles, the Madison Centrals, and the Bryan Stations you have to have bigs. You need grown men along the lines of scrimmage. They have to look the part.

Neither Hoptown nor County will have a ton of scrimmage line talent returning to help stock the consolidated talent pool. They will have Stephan Lovan.

Lovan is a 6’0,” 240-pounder with good leg kick and mobility. Lovan has fluid hips, good feet with the punch to cave in a breast plate and make a bull rusher think twice about whether he should choose a different technique.

Lovan is a fresh-faced kid, especially for a rising junior, who may still have some lengthening in his future. If this kid should add two (2) to three (3) inches, and 25-30 more pounds “the right way,” Lovan could creep up on some big-time recruiting boards before it is all through.

Last year, as a ’25 junior, was a strong presence for the offensive line. Defensively is where Lovan did a lot of his more impressive work. Lovan was among the leaders in tackles and was a leader in tackles for loss. Lovan led the down linemen with QB-pressures and blew up more traps and pulls than any other interior guy on the front line for the Colonel defense.

The new-look Christian County Tigers (6A) will boast as much roster talent as any team in the first district

Friday Night Fletch

Lovan is a guy who could fit in along the offensive front or defensive line but we aren’t sure how many of the kids will be pulling double duty. Lovan pulled double duty for the Colonels in ’25 but this roster figures to be way more stocked than the last roster for which Lovan toiled.

Add his attributes to his overall athleticism, aggressiveness, and dedication to practice, and Lovan is the total package. Lovan is also quite the accomplished and consistent practitioner of the craft and has well developed tools to either block, shed, scrape, and or tackle.

We don’t know what the future holds for the Tigers as two former rosters will join to form one football team. It will be both a hard and bitter pill for sworn enemies to disavow age-old prejudices in favor of comity and uniting against new foes, new enemies.

We do know this, the new Christian County Tigers may find some truffles hidden amongst the roots of the Christian County Colonels former football roster. They may find some next-level type kids to utilize, and on whom they may rely, as the two rosters mix together into one.

Identifying Lovan amongst the “truffles” is hardly a stretch. Matter of fact, many in the area press corp would readily join in our praise for this player.

Identifying a weapon like Stephan Lovan should certainly help get the Christian County Tigers ready for the challenges ahead. That is why Stephan Lovan, is our Lasaters Coffee & Tea, Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Feature of the Week.
