We are dealing with our grief. Each year we have to say good bye to another group of players we began covering when they were just middle schoolers. The best way to deal with the grief is to get right back up on that horse. Here is a player we are sure we will continue to cover over the course of his budding high school career beginning next season. Every year All-State teams get published. Every year some obvious All-Stater gets omitted from every single team. There are more All-State caliber players playing the high school game among Kentucky’s 6-classifications than there are available spots. Like the game “Musical Chair,” there will be an extra-player without a place to land when the music stops. This year, the first of the All-State teams was published. It is sponsored by Kentucky Sports Radio. It was a fine team but omitted Tyler Morris. This article is why that omission was so glaringly inappropriate. Here’s to hoping the other teams don’t err in the same way. HB.
First of all, both the fine people at Mingua Beef Jerky and KPGFootball would like to express heartfelt care and concern for all those impacted by what has been termed the worst tornado in the history of Kentucky. We hope our efforts may bring a moment of comfort to those whose lives have been so inestimably impacted. Not many people realize how good of a football player one has to be to get offered by football teams at the top of any division of play. Let me assure you that St. Johns in Minnesota can flat out ball and could either beat or really push many of the FCS teams populating or surrounding our commonwealth. Never met an offensive lineman who much relished the obligation of having to block a player like Jake Jackson. Low center of gravity, incredible leg kick, power, explosion, off the charts strength, and Jack Jackson’s being ill-humored upon arriving to the football all make him a handful. Yessir, blocking Jake Jackson was such a pain in the rear no one elected to do it all season. Enjoy this feature on a guy who is definitely an All-State caliber defensive lineman. HB.
This guy is among Kentucky’s most athletically gifted and freakishly apportioned (in a good way) football stars from across Kentucky. He plays at one of the more storied and accomplished programs too.
