2019’s Brennan Emnett is headed to Hanover College…smart play!

Brennan Emnett (No. 8)

Probably shouldn’t have to tell anyone this but Lexington Catholic is a “big boy” in Kentucky High School football. Everyone has heard of its top-rated, Class of 2020 QB, Beau Allen. He’s one of the most coveted QBs in the South and deservedly.

Allen completed 233 of 357 passing attempts in 2018 for 3,729 yards passing and 42 passing TDs against only 9 thrown interceptions. Not sure what QB rating that works out to be but it is a completion percentage of over 65%.

While highly regarded and sought after by most all the FBS, power-5 area programs, Beau Allen was far from a one-man team and if you don’t believe us, ask Beau Allen. Another more “under the radar” superstar on the roster was senior linebacker and defensive stalwart, Brennan Emnett.

Emnett led Lexington Catholic with 115 tackles in 2018 and contributed 2 interceptions with 47 return yards, one of which was returned all the way to pay-dirt. Emnett must be quite studious as well because his work in the classroom, together with his prowess as a football player, has earned him the opportunity to play college football for NCAA-Division III, Hanover College.

KPGFootball wouldn’t expect you to realize this but Hanover has been ranked the 18th most beautiful campus and among the best Colleges (period) by the Princeton Review. Forbes Magazine has ranked it amongst it top colleges. It made the US News & World Report list of “Top Liberal Arts Colleges,” was on the Washington Monthly’s list as the 9th most affordable of the “Elite Schools,” is a Kiplinger Top-100 “value” school, and is listed among Money Magazine’s best Colleges. What all of that means is an opportunity to play football and get a degree from Hanover is a big deal!

So for all you Division I or bust crowd, KPGFootball would like to remind you the name of the game is getting set-up for a quality life. Very few players on Alabama or Clemson’s roster will play even one down in the NFL, much less ink a multi-year, multi-million dollar deal. That means the rest of them will hit the job market, just like you.

When that occurs, take it from a 50-year old who knows, the quality of the institution who has awarded you a degree will count for a whole lot. On that day, you may learn Emnett’s degree from a prestigious school like Hanover looks even better than yours from your fancy FBS football factory. Think about it!
