@TelTel_Long from @GHSGatorFball is the @minguabeefjerky ‘Protein-packed Performer of the Week.’ @PrepSpin @MaxPreps @1776Bank @KyHighFootball

Ronnie Mingua began experimenting with making beef jerky back in the 1990s. He shared his efforts with neighbors and friends, soon realizing he had come up with something different and superior to all other beef jerkies on the market. From these humble beginnings, Mingua Beef Jerky got its start.

Today, the Mingua Beef Jerky Company still prides itself on using its old-fashioned, all-natural recipes which offer outstanding products to customers across the nation. The recipes are a family tradition, passed down from generation to generation.

Migua Beef Jerky uses Enviro-Pac CHU-2000 equipment to cook its meat to USDA required levels for both moist or dry operation. Mingua Beef Jerky wants you to become one of its many satisfied customers by sampling its quality hand sliced, all natural beef jerky. We know you’ll love it and come back for more, again and again.

Our recipes and our quality ingredients, hand-cut from solid pieces of beef, are never chopped or formed like other brands, making our products superior and one of a kind. That would make our products similar to this week’s Protein Packed Performer, Class of ’24, RB/FS, Tel Tel Long from Bowling Green, Kentucky’s Greenwood High School, wouldn’t it?

In the interests of full disclosure, if this particular Bowling Green extraction of “Long” is of any relation to our editorial board member and former feature writer, “Fletcher Long,” we are unaware of the relation. We asked Coach Long if he was related to Tel Tel and he said he didn’t believe so but would have been darn proud to claim it.

With what looks certain to be Tel Tel Long’s playing future, there will be plenty of folks claiming kinship with him as his career unfolds. He just finished his sophomore year and he is already turning some heads around the 5A classification’s 2nd district.

Long was Greenwood’s leading ground gainer in ’21. He picked up 745-yards from scrimmage in 111-carries with 6-rushing TDs.

Long was effective swinging out of the backfield in the throw game. He caught 10-balls for 104-receiving yards and a score.

Long was quite the defender too. Long registered 20-tackles from free safety to go along with tying for the team lead in INTs with two (2).

All told, Long was the leading rusher, among the leader in receptions, the second leading scorer, among the leader in tackles registered by DBs, and tied for the team lead in pick-offs. Not bad for a sophomore in high school playing in a district in Kentucky’s second largest classification of competition (5A) which boasts, as members, the State Football Champions from both ’20 and ’21 (Bowling Green and South Warren).

We thought it would be appropriate to feature Tel Tel Long in this article. We also found his efforts deserving of nourishment.

Mingua Beef Jerky agreed this young man could use a bolt of protein. They volunteered to send him some straight away.

Join us next week as we honor another worthy player. Until then, pop some Mingua Beef Jerky in your mouth and savor the quality and flavor which sets it apart from all the competition. Remember, our product is superior and one of a kind; just like Greenwood High School’s Tel Tel Long.
