Kris Hughes is a “Dude.” If you are unfamiliar with that term and its meaning, you need to read our book. There is a link at the bottom of his article. Cade Scott has everything big-time programs covet among QBs. He is tall (6’5″), well put together (200-pounds), with plenty of bounce (varsity basketball star) and a versatile skill set athletically and intellectually (4.14 GPA). Scott, like so many other Kentuckians, is a football/basketball combo guy who several D-1s are noticing, including the three (3) who have already offered. Ross Powers is a 5’7,” 190 pound football playing stud entering his senior year for the Hancock County Hornets. What did he do as a junior? One of our favorite songs used to proclaim loving “red necks, white sox, and blue ribbon beer.” The blue ribbon beer was a reference to Pabst Blue Ribbon, a famous brand of alcoholic beverage. We don’t know if the Pabst family who son is a stud ’27 football player in Fort Mitchell, Kentucky bears any type relation to the Pabst family from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Then again, we don’t know that they don’t. What we do know is Nathan Pabst is dad-burn good at football and he makes his team all the better when he contributes his considerable efforts. Aiden Jesse is putting up prodigious numbers, particularly for a team which has struggled as mightily as have the Colonels. Jesse is also impressing the right people as recruiting interest in him is heightening. This is a prospect who we could see signing with any team at virtually any level of competition. Some call him “Mario.” Some just call him “Rio.” All call him special. Litmer is the QB for one of the most high profile programs in Kentucky 5A or at any classification if we are being honest. Litmer is 6’0,” weighs 176-pounds and, at only 16-years of age, completed over 68% of his passing attempts his junior season and finished with a QBR of 128.1. Highlands won 11-games in ’24, made the semis, and have a vital piece back for another run in ’25. Who knows how far this “Mr. Football” candidate can take them.
